Does anyone know the official minutes?

I thought it was 411 but Monson said it was 421 in his article today.

Any clarification... cos 421 will change or invaklidate my prediction and I don't want to be wrong! 😉

We'll stick with 411 for this thread.

Wonder if he made a mistake or if he's counting injury time or....if he's right!

It's Monson, so I'm betting it's not the last possibility.

Isn't about 420-something how long it has been since we've scored a road goal?

My guess is 568 - about the 65th minute of the Galaxy rematch. Jamie Watson assist to Dipsy (coach will be fed up with Williams & Mathis by then). South goal, of course.

According to a CRapids fan on BS:
I know the Rapids went 499 minutes in the final six games of 1999 without scoring. Then they went another 180 minutes into the playoffs without scoring.

They scored in their first game back in 2000 in the 63 minute ... for a regular season total of 562 minutes ... and an overall total of 742 minutes if you count the playoff games.

I'm not positive that that is the record ... this may have been the second longest ... I'm not positive.

In 2004, SJ went 459 minutes without scoring.

742 minutes. We have a little room and time then 🙄

How about a little fanfic for how the scoring drought will end.

Ellinger is overcome with concern and disdain for his clubs lack of ability to find the back of the net as the scoreless streak hits 546 minutes. Before the second half of the scoreless LA game on June 22 begins Ellinger turns around from his position on the bench and surveys the faces in the crowd. One face jumps out at him - it is RSLfrontrowfan. Ellinger has heard him from behind the bench every game and can tell he's a baller.
Ellinger gets up off the bench and approaches the young heart-throb and says "get down here, I'm putting you in." RSLfrontrowfan replies, "good thing I'm wearing my trusty sambas for this turf." After running to the locker room to take care of the nervous pee, RSLfrontrowfan replaces Williams in the attacking mid position to start the second half.
As the second half begins Donovan takes possession in the midfield and starts a run with the ball down the right-hand third of the field and then makes his way toward the center of the field where RSLfrontrowfan meets him and makes a textbook tackle, recovers the ball and starts a quick counter by playing the ball forward to Mathis who back heals to RSLfrontrowfan who continues his run. Now RSLfrontrowfan plays the ball out to Tiger on the wing and Tiger makes a beautiful lofting feed to RSLfrontrowfan who continued his run and beats the LA trap by a step. RSLfrontrowfan turns and collects the ball in stride off his chest and then one-times a bending rocket past Hartman to the far postage stamp corner. As the crowd celebrates the end of the scoring drought, RSLfrontrowfan runs past Donovan, bends down and picks up an imaginary object off the ground, and motions to hand it to Donovan and says "here, you lost your jock-strap back there."
With the monkey off of RSLs back the flood gates open as Watson, Mathis, and Kreis all find the back of the net in the second half, all coming off of beautifully placed assists from RSLfrontrowfan.

^bump^

Lets give people another shot at this. When is the next goal? I still say mid-first half of the metrostars game 7/4 . I wish it would be against Chicago because I have great seats for that game, but I think it is going to be really hard for RSL to accomplish anything in Chicago, they have a better chance at home vs. LA.

I just got an email from a Rapids fan friend rubbing in that with Jeff Cunningham's hattrick this weekend he has scored as many goals as RSL has all season. Ouch.

The turfmonster will strike for us and give us a gift opportunity to score.
