Who would I root for?

I have a question that might seem silly to some. I want to start following the English Premier League and the German Bundesliga but I don't have a favorite team in either. My ancestors come from each country. So my question is this: Who would people in Lanarkshire, Scotland root for? Who would people in Darmstadt, Germany root for? and who would people in Antrim, Ulster, Northern Ireland root for? What I mean is who would their local teams be?

I would appreciate it if anyone could help with this. I am still a soccer noob.

The obvious choices being either Rangers or Celtic. Are you Catholic or Protestant?

I once worked at a mall store selling video games cause im am part nerd. There was a Scottish faimily would come in a couple times a week cause all their kids did was play video games. I got to be pretty friendly with them and would talk to them quite a bit when they came into the store.

After about 6-7 months the subject of Soccer came up when the recent FIFA game by EA was released. at the time i was acctually a semi Rangers fan just because I played as them when gaming and saw a few games on TV that they played. When I mentioned I liked the Rangers they all gave me the most serious 'im gonna kill you' faces i've ever seen (and trust me, ive got that look by quite a few people being the smart-ass I am) They said to me 'We are Celtic fans' they stormed out of the store. and everytime they came back inu they completely ignored me. sometimes the kids would look at me and their mother would scold them for it. rediculous!

I still am a Rangers fan just because Celtic fans SUCK!

end of story.

oh yea, and as far as what german team to like, like em all! cause some day the german league will invade the french leagues and take over their stdiums and we will all rejoice

I'm a closet Rangers fan too. Don't know exactly why for sure though. I guess I always like the name after reading about Strider.

Okay, but that's Scottish premier league. I think I'll just have to investigate that myself. Do you think anyone in Lanarkshire would root for any teams in the English Premier League? I have two buddies in England, one roots for Aston Villa and the other for Arsenal. I like the buddy that roots for Aston Villa better. I'm playing as Fulham right now on FIFA '05 career mode becuase my coach isn't prestigious enough to coach Aston Villa. (I beat West Ham 9 - Nil 🙂) I'd just like to get behind a team but have no compelling reason to do so. I've never lived there, I only have two friends in England and that's because I work with them. I root for Sao Paulo and Santos in the Brazilian league because Sao Paulo South was my mission and Santo's stadium was in my favorite area. I'd really like to start following the premier league but I dont' want to be a Man U fan, Chelsea fan, or Aresenal fan, just because they're good teams. I'd like a compelling reason to root for an English premier team. Same goes with Bundesliga. Darmstadt is close to Munich. I guess I could root for Munich.

You could always base it on who as yanks on their team. I found myself rooting for Everton last year.
