So, Loyal Leader, I have officially proposed something. Consider that an agenda item, or feel free not to invite me to the next meetings if you don't like the idea. 😉

Another idea I'll throw out there (call it an agenda item if you like):

I propose two membership levels for next year. Standard and Premium or whatever. The premium members are not superior to the standard in any way, but have a couple extra "perks."

Standard would be very much like the current membership. Premium would include a Game day packet w/ noise-maker (mini-drum, or whatever we could find), streamers, chant cheat sheet, etc. They would also get a free copy of the Loyalists Chants Best-Of CD (another thing I'll officiallly propose here), an additional freebie (Loyalist scarf or different t-shirt or something), and a discount at the tailgates. You could price this membership at like $45 or something. I think there is a definite market for this membership and I'd love to see it happen.

* On related business, I have a friend w/ a recording studio. He would have to charge us to use it, but could give us a reasonable rate. How about we practice several times at tailgates and then record the chants? We could copy the CDs and sell them for about $1-$2 at the aforementioned proposed Loyalists Booth and at tailgates, etc. The CD jacket could have the lyrics listed.

Okay, that's all my ideas for now. They may seem like lofty goals, but I can almost guarantee that if the Loyal Leadership said, "Hey let's give it a go. Who wants to volunteer to head up the....?" people would love to jump in and contribute.

Ideas? Discuss.

Jules, I think its great that you are posting all these ideas to "improve" the Loyalists.

But aren't we already doing this?

Loyal1 is the prez, has good relationship with FO.
Deuce does the watch parties.
jasoncox does the tailgating...
They both report to Loyal1...etc...etc...

Am I missing something?

I am proposing something above and beyond current organization. It would entail all those responsibilities being official leadership positions. It would also imply regular coordination between the groups, perhaps regular meetings, an email list, or whatever. It would make those positions electable, if people wanted it that way. It would mean that those people were responsible for those things getting done, but not necessarily doing them themselves.

It creates a hierarchy that means the Loyalists could have more potential because things wouldn't fall on the shoulders of one person. It also adds some new "official" positions.

I think those are all great ideas, Jules. 👏 I've definately been "in the background" most of the time. Mostly because I didn't know what to do to help. I think the Carnival Real booth is a GREAT idea and would love to help with it. (although, it would have to change to booth-girl.....or booth-mom....or....you get the idea)

Hello! I soooo second this nomination for a position that isn't even real for an idea that isn't even happening yet! You would be PERFECT! And I don't even say that because you ARE a babe, but that would help.

Yes, I'm serious. Those of you who haven't met her, "luvmyboys" is a pretty hot mama. And I can say that, because she IS a mama, and I won't be mistaken for harassment since I am also female, etc. :D

Okay, back on topic: you would be great with this position because you're so friendly and outgoing. I'll nominate you officially if this position is ever a real position!

Yeah, what Jules is promoting is to officially spread the responsibility around. Which I think is a good idea. Additionally, you could also have under-secretaries for each position as well so that if for whatever reason the Secretary of Hot Booth Mama couldn't fulfill her duties, the Under-Secretary could fill her shoes, etc. This should seriously be considered because, 1) I believe we have more than enough members willing to help, and 2) sometimes people may not be able to make it to the game, etc., for whatever reason, and it's nice to have a natural assistant to fill-in.

Also, you are forgetting about the official Supporter Liaison position to officially communicate and coordinate with the other supporters groups where necessary.

Lastly, if this stuff flies, perhaps we should have term restrictions for each position, and perhaps make it the same for each one. That way it gives more people more opportunities for service, and doesn't wear one person out on one type of job. Perhaps there's already something like this in the Loyalists by-laws (if there is such a thing), but if not, I propose that there should be.

Wow, fantastic ideas. Really, it's all about letting lots of people get involved and trying to push everything to a higher level! I love those ideas!

I'd be hesitant about doing this. It sounds like a great idea to drum up more funds, but it has a feel of "class" to it. I'd rather everyone have the same opportunities. People walking around displaying their "Premium" scarves, flaunting them in the faces of those who are less fortunate. Next thing you know, they'll be eating caviar at the tailgates!! Sheesh, what a nightmare!!
