Classic spray painted line. It's the classic french mentality to keep changing things to keeps the evil Americans from doing well. You never saw the types of things the Tour is pulling now when Indurain was king. Go Lance Go!

Ouch. Classy of Lance today, though. He tried to start the stage not wearing yellow (because he "didn't win it fairly"), but they made him put it on anyway.

Does anyone else figure that barring accidents/injuries there is no way Monsieur Armstrong is going to lose this Tour?

Ees possible. Especially the way he's been protecting himself from all those crazy-a$$ sprinters at the end. My personal wish is that either tomorrow or the next day (before the mountains), Lance gets Popo, Padrnos, and Salvodelli to organize a breakaway for Hincapie, then takes the rest of the Train and shuts down the peleton until Georgie is wearing yellow. I wouldn't be sad if the Tour ended that way, either. Hincapie's long overdue for something: stage win, couple of weeks in yellow, whatever. I'd also like Bono to let the Edge sing more, but I'm not going to get either wish, I don't think.

I don't think it's impossible. It would have to be a very well-organized breakaway, and Discovery might even have to enlist help from a team or two with nothing to lose--Francais des Jeux? Lampre? Euskatel-Euskadi? (BTW, that last one's the coolest name in all of cycling.) I think Lance and Johan could come up with something--I mean, they came up with that great "Lance is having a bad day" Alpe d'Huez farce, didn't they? Despite Jean-Marie Leblanc's power play today, I think we all know who the real "capo" of the Tour is. I think it would be marvelous to see just how much power Lance has over the peleton, or what kind of trickery it would take to get four Discovery guys riding their own TTT off the front, and five Discovery guys cutting off any kind of counterattack.

Lance on more than one occasion has tried to get George into the yellow jersey.
Last year I remember him trying to let George win a stage as well, but the Rivals were still dumb enough to think they could win the TDF, so Lance had to go with them and George couldn't quite hang. George is my favorite cyclist... but I have to say Zabriski is my #2... Lance is #3 on my list. George to bring down the mighty Lance would be a dream... :giljotiin

Zabrieski had a very tough day today. Apparently there was a crash a few kilometers from the finish which really separated the field. Dave lost about 8 minutes on much of the field, now is down in 141st place.

Yeah, his only chance to stay on top was to keep the yellow. Otherwise, there's about eight guys in front of him that Bjarne Riis would rather have win. Like it or not, Dave's just a domestique. A world-class time trialist, but still just a domestique.

Maybe there's a better forum for this.
But our buddy Kevin Graham just keeps spreading sunshine everywhere. He made fun of the Tour. So the guy that runs Bountiful Bicycles has challenged him to ride 200 miles over 2 days. If he does so, he gets a $500 gift certificate. They are leaving at 9 AM from Bountiful Bicycle. This is from memory, so you might want to call before you show up.
