Do you think it would be appropriate for us to make a banner in this little boy's honor or have a moment of silence or something? After all, he is as you say a Jr. Loyalist forever more. I know other groups around the world often honor their fallen in such a way (Boys Roma did it recently) ....Thought I'd throw the idea out there.
Jake, I think that is a good idea.

Jules run it by the family to see how they feel so we can discuss it during the meetings?

Yes, this is the little boy I told DJ about. When I emailed him the information, I told him that it looked like he wasn't going to make it. I'll send a follow-up email confirming that. I'm going to the funeral tomorrow and I'm gonna cry like a baby the whole time.

I'll give my neighbor best wishes from all the Loyalists.

Thanks, Jules. My father in law was 74 & had been ill for quite some time, so even though we went through this; I can't imagine what your neighbor is going through.

I made up a poster for Whayne Wilson (the Costa Rican forward who had been killed in a car crash just before US - Costa Rica) and I taped it up in front of E32 on June 4.

So I can help out if we are going to make a banner.

But I have to imagine that many (or more likely most) Loyalists are better at things like that than I am.

It is never easy to lose someone, but someone so young...its really tough. Thank you for posting that though Jules. Like Rover said, our family's thoughts and prayers are with the boy's family.

Thanks for sharing this story with us Jules. I too want to say my condolences to the family. Let them know how we all feel.

I think the banner would be a great idea.
This also reminds me that the Loyalists should actively take part in local charities. We could even link to them on our website.

That's somethin'.

A banner would be a nice sentiment. Make sure it's OK with the family, though. We don't want to cheapen the emotions if the family feels that it would do so.

In addition to the the banners maybe we could make buttons w/ his picture that the Loyalists can wear at the next game with a small black ribbon or something.
maybe with words Forever Jr. Loyalist or other suggestions

Do we know anyone that can do up about 40-50 1" (or bigger) buttons?

I will print out about 50 wallet size prints of that picture if we can get someone to make the buttons and do the ribbons.

Just a thought.

any thoughts

We might be able to make buttons pretty quick thru CafePress.
