Calling all Public Relations Volunteers!

Hey, all of you who volunteered to get involved with the PR committee for the Loyalists. I'd like to have a meeting sometime to discuss a few ideas and hear any ideas you have. I'm assuming that if I host the meeting here at my house in Orem, it'll be a party of one? No, I can't make it to Iggy's on Wednesday. Any other ideas?

What group did you want me in? Or were you all serious about the "Hiba is in every committee" idea? 😛

Lol, we were mostly just kidding I believe. I don't really remember what this comitee entails but I'm pretty sure I did volunteer for it. And no, I couldn't make it to Orem.

I plan on contributing to several committees, but not all of them. I've been thinking things through lately and I'm really (really really) sick of all the drama, but just giving up and going to Italy is the easy way out (just kidding Jake). If I really am dedicated to this team and I really believe the whole Loyalists/supporters concept, then it's up to me to turn things around and make good things happen. So I'll contribute everywhere my time and energy permits.

To start things off, everyone please PM or, better yet, email me your current email address. We'll start off the discussion via an email list (remember to click "Reply to All" when you reply) and work out a meeting time later. Email your email address and which committee (PR or membership) to and I'll get things started in a day or two.

Hiba, if you only have time for one, plan to be most active in membership since that's what you've been most involved in so far.

Jules,

Why don't you post a summary of everything the PR committee will be involved in. Also, does this mean that the committees were finalized? And if so, which ones? Or is that information located in another thread that I haven't yet read this morning...

There are several things that I want input on, but I do not think they require the attention of a public forum such as this one. So for now, I'll send out some emails and get people talking that way.

The status on committees is this: well, read the meeting report from the last pair of meetings. But other than that, Glenn would love to see people get involved and doing stuff, but he isn't going to hold people's hands and step them through it. So it's up to other people to take initiative for things. That is exactly what I'm doing, and exactly what the booth babes have been doing. Like I said before, I'm going to try to get past the "confrontation stinks" and just try to improve the Loyalists. Those who are like-minded are invited to join me in getting involved.

Like I've said before, it's time to stop complaining about the way things are and time to do something about it. Move forward, instead of looking backward.

So we can just start organizing our own committees without the official blessing of our leaders? The problem with that is that we tend not to have an elected representative as a committee head, which can lead to in-fighting. I think it's good to get this ball rolling, but to have it done so in an organized, officially sanctioned manner would be far better than the alternative. Why can't we just wait for a decision about what the official committees will be, and have someone placed in charge of the voting/elections/appointments? Once that's done, this can be moved through in the matter of a couple of weeks, and we'll have fully functional committees by the time the Earthquakes come to town on the 20th?

Okay, those who volunteered earlier have been emailed to join a new Google group for the committee. Let's see how it works. If you want to be added, email me (see above) or PM me or post your email address here. Thanks.
