Not so much that, as I don't think it is going to be as bad as we think it is right now.

It is a big deal... but big deals are all relative...
A big deal to me is not necessarily a big deal to you... or someone else...

but what I was referring to was when I agreed with Stucki... was that we still have time to sell and that some sales are not counted yet...

Plus ppl are starting to point fingers and place blame for a failure that has not happened and is only going to happen if ppl start pressing the panic button and running for the tallest windows to jump from...

YES it is a big deal but it is nothing to panic over...

However, unless a large number of last minute sales come in, we won't win the contest which the FO thought we would win with ease. I'm not sure how many tickets RCB has sold, but I don't think it is enough that we are in the lead in the contest yet.

I just meant that we shouldn't panic quite yet, keep trying to sell tickets.

The FO has emailed the leadership of both major groups to encourage them to redouble their efforts to win the supporters challenge.

That's cool. Sorry I'm being kind of a jerk right now, but this whole thing kind of confuses me.

To quote Knowles, "no worries".

I was hoping to sell more than the 8 my kids and I have sold, but I'm hoping to get at least a couple more.

It seems like there are not that many people posting on this thread...which makes me wonder how many people are selling tickets. Well...I have 11 commitments now, but am waiting till I hear back from more people to place an order...I hope there are more folks like me just waiting to buy them all together.

I was at the FO meeting where this was discussed. It was my job to relate this information to the public (hence the whole "public relations" thing...) Somewhere along the way, my duties as a mother outweighed my PR duties and for that, I apologize.

There are a lot of aspects of this contest. One is the information the Loyalists need to know:
(1) This is a contest we want to win. The FO wants us to win this to boost our publicity for next year. They're counting on us to do this for them.

(2) It's also a fundraiser for the supporters. A small portion of the ticket price goes back to the supporters, I believe.

(3) The winning supporters also get a "party" thrown by the league and ESPN2, I think. No details on that. Maybe two slices of pizza plus free soda on the fieldturf some Saturday at noon. Who knows.

Then there is the information that the public needs to know:
(1) We're offering discount tickets w/ a free tailgate thrown into the mix.

(2) This is for the ESPN2 broadcast so we want to make it look good.

The behind-the-scenes sort of stuff includes:
(1) This is a good way for the FO to sell some tickets by word of mouth, so we're doing something good for the team.

(2) If we succeed in selling these tickets BEFORE the game, people will have to buy more expensive tickets perhaps, boosting revenues for the team. Hence, they want these presold. If we sell them game day, we're stealing away their revenues. That doesn't mean they wouldn't let us do it, but if they do, they are not required to feel as cheerful toward us.

(3) This is a chance for us, as supporters, to show the FO that we really care. It's a chance for us to shine and give something back to them. They have been good to the Loyalists, giving us invites to private events and whatnot. This is our chance to reciprocate and keep the relationship positive.

I'm sure I missed a lot more. Oh well. Questions?
