Hmmm, I can take that two ways. Since we're all common allies here, I'll spin it in a positive way. Kidding.

I'd love to say that it's for personal reasons, but it's more for the movie than anything else.

Hi, my name is Jared. Born, raised and still live in England. Since i'm English (and we invented it) i am a massive Football (Being English the 'S' word makes my blood run cold!) fan, and a supporter of my hometown team, Sutton United, who play in the English non-league/Minor leagues. Why do i want to follow RSL you ask? Well i'm also LDS, have been all my life, and a RM from Bountiful who i keep in contact with gave me the link to the offcial RSL site. A pro-Football team in Utah? I had to follow them. Maybe one day i'll come over to see a game, i really hope so.

Welcome Jared. We will forgive you for not liking the S word. We glorify it, especially when we are playing Chivas.

Welcome, Jared, and I'll agree that I think it should be called football, too. However, I don't want anybody around here to get confused when I say, "I'm a big football fan." They'd say, "Yeah, who isn't?"

Welcome aboard, Jared. Great to have you.

I should tell, you, however, that in addition to inventing the game, the English also invented the term "soccer." So we're just using your term for the game, since there are a number of other games called "football."

Whatever we call it, it's the best ever English export.

Hope you can make it over here and see RSL in person.

Unfortunatly it's true we came up with the 'S' word. However it was some rich kid in the 1880's that came up with it to tell the difference between Association Football (where you use your feet) and Rugby Football (where they used a odd-looking ball and touch each other in inappropiate places)

Welcome Jared! And yes, we here in Utah are extremely excited about having a pro 'football' team! Glad to have at least one confirmed 'international' follower. I know Wayne, who is also on this forum, was at least one time an international - I don't know if he's originally from England or some other British holding - but he does the color commentary for the home games on our local sports radio station. Does a bang up job too!

He is English. His cousin Paul plays for England and Man U. He is a Liverpool supporter.

Is he seriously the cousin of the legend that is Paul Scholes? That is cool. Although he no longer plays for England he is still a top player.

He is. He wants us to do "football right". He has been a great help to the Loyalists.
