These are the reasons I'm most incensed:
1) The original instigator (Romo) walks away with only a $250 fine. Sure Clint was embellishing the foul a bit but that doesn't give Romo the right or authority to kick the ball at him. I can hear the argument from some on BS from hear that Clint embellished the foul so he deserved it. Most fouls are embellished. When was the last time you saw a player jump right up off of the pitch after being fouled/tackled? I've played since I was five and I do it, anyone with a brain will take an extra couple of seconds on the ground to take a breather. 2) Arias lands a kick on Dunny with the intent of doing harm and gets off easier than Mathis. How is kicking a ball into the stands, failing to leave the field in a timely manner, and verbally confronting the ref worse than intent on Arias' part to do physical harm. I did see Mathis' hand end up close to Romo's face but it looked to me like as he was trying to push Romo away he was bumped and his hand ended up near his face. I didn't see a closed hand fist being thrown in there but maybe I'll have to look again. Part two of this is that I don't remember Arias leaving the field right after he was given his card but maybe that is because his card didn't come out until the near the end of the whole fiasco. 3) Leading up to the incident the ref didn't have the game under control. Things were getting really chippy and as some others had pointed out there were a few card worthy fouls that didn't draw a card. The officiating crew should have their performance reviewed on this one. Maybe if some cards had been previously pulled Romo decides it's not worth another yellow to kick the ball at Mathis. 4) blah blah blah :mad1: :mad1:

Like I said earlier, that it what makes me most upset. The referee failed to step in and control the game early, and the play deteriorated until things got quite ugly. Now one player (out of many involved) is singled out to make an example of.

This is lame because the only really violent act was by Chivas. We all saw the kick. That was vicious.
RSL can be faulted for being confrontational, but Chivas was straight violent. That's how they play. Now we all know what they're about. I hope their moms saw how they played.

Not sure how many people heard the Mathis interview on 1280, but I was very impressed with Clint. He owned up to his mistakes and knows he needs to be more careful. He did also admit that it seems like he got the short end of the stick (which we ALL know is true). It also sounded like they aren't going to appeal the decision. The moral of the story is that Clint knows he plays with some serious intensity and needs to learn to turn it off when it is going to hurt the team.
It is just refreshing to hear someone own up to their mistakes in sports. I watch a lot of other sports stars and they just come off as jerks (Rafael Palmeiro, Terrell Owens, etc.), but Clint was nothing but class. Good work Clint!

I don't have an e-mail address, but if you use typical logic in how work email works... this would be Don Garbers email. dgarber [at] mlsnet.com or don.garber [at] mlsnet.com I have a word of caution though... remember that the team is addressing this through appropriate channels and we don't need a desnews fiasco all over again.

I must say that we should wait for the proper channels to do their thing... all we can do is make people mad by flooding their e-mail box. Although, I must admit that this is the biggest crock of :pooh: I have witnessed. I can't imagine that the league could draw the conclusion they did after viewing the tape. __________________
