Huh?
I don't get it Geoff, what are you refering to?
I mentioned all three in my post.

But regardless, if Gregorio wasn't signed to a Dev spot, then we would need to get rid of 2 senoir spots (ie O'Brien and Selolwane).

We released (over time) Noah Palmer, Dipsy, and O'Brien.

We picked up Cabrera, Gregorio, and Scarlett.

RSL was talking with Panamanian striker Tejada (?) but he signed for big bucks elsewhere. Isreal, I think.

I'm sorry I'm so blind. Honestly. I read that Gregorio took Noah Palmer's spot on the roster...

So is this the striker that they were talking about saving cap/roster space for down the road on the radio show a few weeks ago? There was some to do here about a potential signing of a well known forward... the question is, where did you hear that they were in discussions with Tejada and was this the guy?

For what it's worth, they are reporting that Tejada signed in UAE at the beginning of August on the Panama boards in Big Soccer.

Trying to get a player and actually getting a player are two different issues. A perfect example is the speculation over Kasey Keller coming here. Most ppl were already buying him an RSL jersey. In the end he went to Borussia-Munchengladbach.
I am not trying to insult your intelligence if you already understand that concept, so please forgive any insult. It is not intended.

Yes RSL was trying to sign Tejada. they actually spent a great deal of time in negotiations. RSL were on the brink of signing... that is when I first heard of it.
In the end the team in the middle east offered the player a better deal than MLS/RSL could offer.

The source of the info is a very reliable source and has been right on many occassions, it is impossible to be right all of the time tho.

Completely understood - I had just wanted to confirm with you that Tejada was indeed the "prominent" striker that we heard about a few weeks ago. I hadn't heard his a name behind the rumor until now. Since you have good sources that would lead you to believe that Tejada was the guy we now know not to expect another striker this year!

That was the only reason that I asked.

No offense taken.

I understand this is all how the game goes, but

I really like both Dipsy and O'Brien.

I'm sad to see them go.

I think I'll feel this way every time one of the originals has to leave.
