I was thinking to myself, "Why would someone spend good money on a soccer game just so they could read their Fedora Linux manual?" Now that I think qualifies for most apathetic fan ever. I'll take 100 Mathis haters over 1 guy reading a Linux manual during a game.

OK, that's brilliant, just brilliant!

My fix was, everytime they shouted something negative, I would shout out (louder too, I've got a nice set of lungs) The opposite positive.
EX: fan: "Trade DJ!" me: "I love DJ!!"
fan: "Dunseth is a homo!" me: "Dunseth dates your mom!!"

We'll see how it works as the games continue!

OK, now that's just lame people pretending to be fans, whining to me is different. That's abusive stuff, no game needs that ... unless it's talking about players on the opposing team of course ...

Yeah, I don't mind the educated whiners so much as I mind the guy a couple of rows behind me for whom EVERY call sucks. It's pretty entertaining when he's in mid-rant and realizes the call went our way. I'm also not very fond of his racist taunting of Chivas fans (not that I'm defending Chivas fans--they have their own cross to bear), or the fact that he can't tell any of the *ahem* darker skinned players apart (he spent half of the last game calling Akwari Pope and Scarlett Tiger). Grrrr. That kind of fan can go sit in the south goal for all I care.

Sounds like it would be better if our attendance dropped by one. You're describing exactly the kid of "fan" we don't need.
