It could be cool since they just began play this year so we share some type of kinship with them.

I seriously doubt they would travel here, but other than that, I think it sounds like a fine idea.

I think they would travel here without a hesitation and it sounds like a fantastic idea, it's funny you should say that because I just ordered there kit yesterday!

I really think that is a great idea, they are doing well at the top of their league and seem to be on track with great attendances at Giggs Lane in Bury. They've only lost 3 games so far and have drawn 2, but won 11 scoring a whopping 41 with a goal difference of 30! Not quite as good as Skelmersdale with a goal difference of 42 having scored 53!

Anyway, I think it's a great idea.

Don't they have a blind keeper? Or was that just a bad joke I misheard at the local soccer bar?

They are a low, low, low level team. The idea of them is kind of cool, but I don't they'll ever get past being basically a really good rec team.

Want a good team to bring over? West Ham United baby! Wigan in a pinch.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the emails, comments and posts since the season ends. I'm glad our dialogue will continue through three months with no games.

Tonight's 1-0 win over Chivas sends us into the offseason on a much better note, agreed? Nice to see Jamie chip the Chivas' keeper - off a world-class move from Clint. Here's to more of that next year.

I hope some of you got to see the "scrimmage" prior to the game... several of our trialists had big games, and I want to thank the Liga Latinoamericana for their support of RSL and for providing opposition for the 80-minute encounter. We have to be somewhat low-key about this game, but the trialists showed how badly they want to make this team (they scored 7 of the goals, I think). We appreciate all of them for bringing some competition to practice. As you'd expect, the players with the most MLS / International experience have been the most impressive - but we're not prepared to make any decisions/announcements yet. Several others are due in next week. I'll do my best to keep you posted...

John and I had productive trips to England (him) and Germany (both of us) last week. We're establishing contacts and networks that will hopefully pay off in both the short- and long-term. We saw players in both countries that we would love to bring to our 2006 PreSeason, and we will continue discussions with agents and clubs in the weeks to come. We confirmed logistics for Jay Nolly, Kenny Cutler and Jamie Watson, who depart Tuesday for 14 days with Hannover 96. They will be treated like royalty, see some world-class soccer, and participate day-in, day-out with the first team in one of the most challenging leagues in the world. It should be a great experience for all three - and I think they'll come back with renewed vigor for 2006.

Thanks for everything fans... hope to see some of you at training in the coming weeks, or at any of our special events this off-season. Is it April yet?

Cheers,
Steve

World class! Thanks Steve (and thanks RSL for dinner last night).

Thank you for the great season (great meaning the experience of course 😉). Thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks for posting Steve.

I saw that one of the new trialists was from Korea.
Is there a chance we will see more Asian trialists with RSL soon?
Seems like a large untap market for players out there.

I wonder this, too. Having personally spent a lot of time in Korea I know that there is a lot of talent on that peninsula, and I also know that Korean players are playing in various clubs across Europe (such as ManU). I also wonder about the possibility of any Asian clubs coming over here for friendlies. I'd bet our pro-soccer, Chinese-speaking governor would be interested in something like that!

Steve, it's been grand! I can't express how much it has meant to me to follow the team throughout this year. Despite the dissappointing results, please tell the players that we love them.

Everyone in the organization, from top to bottom, has done a GREAT JOB. We have been amazed at the level of cooperation that you've given us. This is truly what a soccer organization should be. As a result, I believe you have achieved a fan base, in your first year that most of the league should be jealous of.

Thank you, Steve. And thank you, RSL.
