If Steve P actually reads this thing. PLEASE don't get rid of Mathis. At times he's frustrating, and if he's frustrating to the fans, I can imagine the frustrations he can give managment. But, he has a fire about it him. Maybe restructure his contract based on performance 🙂. Anyway, Mathis isn't the only issue. He obviously has the skill. For instance, he can deliver the ball. If we can get him and the strikers on the same page...look out. Try playin a 3-5-2, having Mathis as a center, but push him up as a type of 3rd attacker, but still behind them.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

re Mathis...I have a problem with the way Mathis has played all year, but more important might be the rumors that Mathis received his one week vacation after getting into a yelling match with Pope, Dunny and Kamler. Let's face it...a vet would have to be a prime, 100% A-hole to create such a problem in the locker room that Pope and Kammy think it is time to take you to task. If he is causing problems in the locker room as well as being ineffective on the field, he should probably be gone NOW...much less by next year.

To go along with the wish list. I hope Dunseth is gone as well. Perhaps he will go somewhere to focus on his clothing line.

Dunseth has his strengths. Retaliating without getting caught just doesn't happen to be one of them.

I know I shouldn't like that, but I did. However, how many times does he get scored on before it gets noticed by the coach. Sure, he may be frustrated at this point, but it seems he gets behind the attacker all too often.

I've noticed that there are a couple of players that will be awesome one game, them seem kinda lazy the next. I understand that after running around kicking a ball for a bit, you can get tired, but there is one player in particular that seems to just be 'lazy' ALL the time. What kind of 'team spirit' is that? Are they just sick of playing? Maybe it's not a concern to others, but it's almost like they are expecting the rest of the team to pull their weight as well.

I guess I would like to know if you give them a pep talk when you notice they aren't putting forth the effort? Do they get a dock in pay for that game? Do they have to buy dinner for the rest of the team? Do they get flogged?

I'd personally get real frustrated if I was on the same team and noticed that so and so was just barely doing his/her part. Know what I mean?

Hi gang,
As you are aware, there has been a lot going on in these past few weeks (plus I snuck away for some family time). But, simply put, tomorrow is another historic day in RSL's short existence. Within a 370 days of introducing the team name, we're making concrete plans for a stadium - and that is a good thing.

I checked in here today to see what the fan reaction to this morning's articles. The broad range of opinions is what I expected. I will be sure to take a walk around the stadium tomorrow night to get some more instant feedback. I'll offer some more insight in the coming days.

Meantime, know that we need to beat Colorado for pride and the Rocky Mountain Cup. Then the process of bettering our team for 2006 begins in earnest. It will be an active off-season for us in every way. I'll be sure to keep you posted and/or respond to your questions, best I can.

Mostly I want to thank all of you for your support this year... I hope we can really deliver for you tomorrow on Fan Appreciation Day/Night.

Cheers,
Steve
