RSL vs. DC Aug 31 Pre/PBP/Post [R]

Basic lineup for RSL for Wednesday:
Countess
Akwari-Knowles/Lookingland?-Dunseth-Broome
Gregorio
Williams-Scarlett
Mathis
Kreis-Washington

-Yes I think DJ will play over Nolly. Not saying DJ should but I think he will.
-Pope and Cabrera will be gone for WCQ.
-Gregorio will start over Cutler
-Brown and Pierce didn't make the trip from injury
-I think Ellinger wants to have Washington start over Cila with Tarley coming in as a sub.
-I have no idea who is playing center back with Dunseth.

Discuss!

I'm confident that the above back 4 can keep stop at least one attack. I'm saying 4-1 DC.

With Pierce, Pope, Cabrera and even Brown out, my only guess (outside the Benchke, Knowles or Lookingland type guesses) is that Scarlett or Gregorio might be put back into the backline for this match.

Anyone got more info?

I'm pretty sure Nolly will get the nod for starting goalie.

Whoever gets the nod in the goal better be on top of their game.

There ya go! Put another forward up top. So a 3-4-3. That way, with Williams and Scarlett making runs on either side to a waiting Kreis-Washinton-Turley combination. Holy crap!!

You assume that the ball will ever make it to the forwards. Only problem is you've gotta have an effective back line and reasonable midfield to create any chance for the forwards to do their thing. There have been plenty of games where the forwards looked really sharp but had the ball so infrequently that it was impossible to create very many opportunities.

I assume correctly. By the way, we have a great midfield! Gregorio, Scarlett, Williams, and Mathis!!! Rockin'!!! And an Akwari, Dunseth, Broome back-line aint what I'd call "Shabby".
