Gaven- 4 goals, 1 assist, 762 mins
Peterson- 3 goals, 1 assist, 376 mins

My point was that those were three MLS guys that he not only brought into camp, but played.

Aren't both Adu and Gaven mids anyway? I agree that Peterson isn't good, but that wasn't my point anyway.

I think similar comments were once made about Gbandi.

Will Marvell pan out to be one of the next great US sentral defenders or not? Hard to say...he certainly has the physical skills, he's a player with a lot of buzz surrounding him, which amounts to a great deal of pressure...I certainly won't pretend to be able to divine his eventual impact on american soccer...What I do think is that he is blazing fast for a defender, something which certainly couldn't hurt our defense. The few times I've seen him play, I was impressed with his poise and decision making. I can't begin to imagine that I have scouted enough players to definitively say who I feel is the best defender in the draft. On some levels, drafting defenders high has been historically counterproductive. Some of the top defenders at a professional level are converted from other positions. Often defenders coming through the college systems do not have the ball skill to effectively transition to a professional level, or do not have the footspeed to match the top forwards out there.

People have said that RSL ought to be drafting somebody who they think can be a starter on the squad. The holes in RSL's line-up, however, are at A-mid and central defense. I would be shocked if anybody we could draft could start in those crucial roles by the opening game. I think we ought to be looking for somebody who could potentially start as soon as June. Otherwise we'd be putting enormous pressure on a very young player. Frankly I'd be happy if we could draft Wynne, I'd also be happy with Sacha, knowing he may not start the first year. I don't know much about Sturgis, so I'm not sure whether he's good enough to be the #2 overall pick in the draft...one thing is certain however, and that's if we'll be picking Sturgis, I'd expect RSL to gain some draft picks to allow somebody to use the second pick to take Sacha. At the moment, I'll wait for the Combine to see some of these people play against each other, while hoping that the RSL scouting staff are watching thousands of hours of film on these guys to see beyond the hype.

Wynne is amazing. And the other Generation Adidas fellas have super skillz.
But you guys are forgetting why GAs are really so popular for MLS teams.
Adidas pays their salary, not the MLS teams.
So they are essentially free.

BTW I refuse from here on out to spell ADIDAS in all lower case.

I just thought this one was funny.

Sturgis, a projected pick for RSL
