Here is some of the whole story.

http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/ci_3107431

I am going to boo any politician out there at the game. I am pretty sure I am going to yell foul at the politicians. My opinion over this whole thing isn't just over night. I have been following the parking lot funds story since it started. Sometimes the 'conservative' leaders here make me sick.

I think it was stated well.

My loyalty is to the team.

My loyalty is NOT to stupid politicians.

Trust me, booing the stadium site is not the only way to show how upset I am about this. I have already done other things. I even called my state and local representatives.

Does Real Salt Lake deserve a stadium? Hell Ya! Dave Checketts has worked hard for us, but the stadium site still SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I boo Tom Doland yet I am a republican. Does that mean that I am not loyal to the Republican party?

I didn't know we suddenly became a sit down and shut up kind of people. Just follow blindly what your organization does. If you have a differing opinion don't be too loud about it. It might send the wrong message to the young people. I call BS.

I have no bad feelings towards Real Salt Lake. I am a HUGE fan, but apparently because my opinion differs from everyone else suddenly I am not as loyal?

Maybe that is why I am not a Loyalist.

It is my turn to call BS... No one said you are any less loyal... this not a Loyalist vs. "YOU" thing... this is a few people that don't share the same opinion as you... that is all... and just like you are allowed to voice your opinion here... so are the people that disagree with you...
God forbid!

You know I am getting so sick of people just automatically throwing the Loyalists name into the mix whenever someone that is (or even is not) a Loyalist disagrees with them. No one ever said you had to agree with me or anyone else...

I disagree with you and i happen to be a Loyalist... I am proud to be a Loyalist. I haven't always been so proud... but I am again.

If you don't want to be a Loyalist and you want to join a different group that is fine, I will still shoot the pooh with you at the matches, given the chance, but don't blame the Loyalists for your decision... take ownership of your own decision to join or not join...

People are so quick to throw a label on people and organisations. I suppose that is just easier...

I disagree that the Sandy site sucks. Is it less preferrable? Perhaps, but "sucks" - no. I appreciate your passion, and am ecstatic that you are a team fan (we need as many of you as we can get), but where and when you boo or speak your voice is just as important as why you do it. You're free to feel slighted, or discontent at the teams decision, but just make sure your negative voice will be heard by the appropriate people and interpreted correctly. If not, you may end up doing damage instead of good. That's why I think booing at the game tonight during the announcement is the wrong choice. You've got the wrong audience, and the wrong timing. Booing at the Expo center today at the politicians is perhaps a better method, but ONLY if the RSL officials can appreciate the fact that you are cheering loudly for the announcement and for them. If they can't, you may again be doing damage instead of good. Probably the best way to show your discontent is with Op Ed pieces, call-ins to radio shows, letters and phone calls to politicions, etc.. That way you are in more control of how your message is received (by extolling the efforts of RSL, but showing your discontent for the political issues). That's my 2 cents.

Deuce-

You are right that this is not a Loyalist versus me. The generalization should not have been made. I was on a rant.

Aerick-

These are the kind of posts that are interesting. I see where you are coming from and appreciate your point quite a bit.

The better posts have come from you guys. I honestly appreciate the way you guys think and respond to my ranting.

Will either of you be at the press conference today?

Then after fighting for another year we realize we've gone nowhere because the political climate hasn't changed? You think all the politicians involved in this thing are just going to start playing nicely? Rock"head" has an ego that will keep anything from getting done. I'm glad RSL has made a decision and the political dance over the stadium is just about over. The Sandy location will be great.

Keep in mind, also, that part of the deal to bring MLS to SLC was that they were supposed to announce an new SSS within a certain amount time. The time limit has been passed by a long ways and they are running out of options. They really can't hold off any longer. It needs to be done now, and the only viable option is Sandy. So guess what? They chose to do the possible, rather than hold out for the impossible.

There are a lot of plusses to the Sandy location. There are even more plusses for having the SSS as soon as possible. I, for one, am now firmly on the bandwagon! Yay for the Sandy Soccer Specific Stadium!
