I'll debate them with you. I thought it was a travesty that they ever changed the BYU unis to begin with. They spent 30 years building up a reputation as a great school, and then threw all that recognition out the window with the new unis.

Michigan doesn't change their unis. Or USC. Or Ohio State. Or Texas. Etc. Once you've made a reputation with a particular look, don't throw it out. Unless of course it's a bad reputation.

And you're right. Ute voices don't count.

I like the idea of white shorts, with dark strips. I don't like the one color look for soccer or football.

there is something to be said here about the solid colors. I for one love when someone is wearing a dark color (be it dark green, dark blue, black, scarlet) and that is the only color they wear. It's pretty intimidating if you ask me.

The opposite in football, is, um....pretty week. Anyone who watches Texas football? They are white from head to toe and they look very silly.

Now the two tone uniform is fine as well. But I really prefer the solid look.

You must be a Utah fan. I don't mind solid white for football, although I prefer it if they don't have a white helmet. I hate solid dark on dark.

Let's look at the different uniform styles Stucki...

two toned:

the two toned uniform comes in many variations. There's the solid color look like Michigan. There's the striped pants like USC, Virginia and 1 million others, even Utah state this year has gone two toned, even though their uniforms aren't designed to go that way.
but don't be dismayed because Utah really isn't wearing their uniform correctly as well.
The Utah State uniform stripe doesn't match. It's dark down the side top and white on the pant. They were designed to be all dark or all light with the dark stripe.

Now Utah is supposed to be alternate. The white pant has a red stripe down the side, which would make sense if you're wearing a red top to have the top continue into the stripe in the pant leg. Look at the away here:

That is what it is supposed to look like. Let's hope they get it together both with the play and the uniform.

Next the solid look...

The solids:
First, the all darks:

Very impressive. I always like the all dark colors be it all dard red, dark green, dark black (er) but they are very intimidating (unless it's all yellow or all pink).

Let's look at the all whites:

What did Jack Nicholson call the all white Navy uniforms in "A few good men?" Exactly. Just think of it this way, Strom Troopers look silly in the all white...could you imagine them in the deep scarlet color or all black....like darth vader.

but...if you add a stripe to the all white you get this:

A little better, but I still like a contrast.

I was hoping that Utah would go with the contrasting white and red. San Diego State has several of the ugliest uniforms ever. The Utah crack was that most Utah fans like the solid dark look, because Utah has done that for a few years now.

I like Coach Guy bringing the contrast back, although it would be nice if they were designed for it.

I know others disagree with me on this, they are wrong, but..

I went with e. I think the yellow has potential for a 3rd kit though.

Fuegoat's right. The all-dark looks much more intimidating than the all-white. It's like yelling "we surrender" from head to toe.

I think they all look great. They just hope they find some better players to stick inside those uniforms!
