BTW I was looking at the Salary database (thanks Wash Post).

By making the cuts (but not taking into account the new hires, because there is no info there yet) RSL has cut $541,000 in salaries.

I think the Deigo Walsh move is going to rank right up there with bringing Dante Washington in.

It's not even December yet, and people are busting out the doomsday predictions.

Like winter doesn't suck bad enough already or something?

Walsh had some promise over at KC.

I think he can be decent bench player at worse.

My main problem with him is that he is supposedly a SI.
With Cabrera, Scarlett and Sequiera that equals 4. I believe we are allowed 4 for 2006. So we are done making our Senoir International picks.
🙁

A lot of players have promise when they're young. But what matters is how they end up translating that into play on the pitch as they develop. Coloumbus let him go for cheap. And for KC Walsh was a perenial starter for the reserves last year after making 15 appearnaces the year before. Same coach, same tactics, same system and he's relegated to the reserves for all but 16 minutes the next year? I suppose for a 3rd round supplimental draft pick he may be worth a chance. Afterall, what is a 3rd round supp draft worth? At this point with so much time before the next season begins it just leaves me wonder what other young prospect could be filling that roster spot come march instead of him.

If Walsh is an SI not way in heck is he worth an SI slot.

He went to SMU and has played in the MLS. Maybe he has his green card or RSL is gambling that he'll have it before next year?

Here is what it has to say about Walsh in the RSL Newsletter that came today in my e-mail:

RSL Acquires Right to Diego Walsh: RSL also acquired the rights to Kansas City defender Diego Walsh. Real traded the Wizards a third-round 2005 supplemental draft pick. Walsh is a native of Brazil and will occupy one of RSL's senior roster positions.
