I wish I had bought a Houston 1836 t-shirt.

I wouldn't trust mlsgear dot com to get a t-shirt out to you now though with the track record they have at screwing up orders.

OH... OH...

Using the logic behind this move... if it is in fact going to happen...

Then New England will have to change the name of their team because it reminds all persons of British descent about how they lost the War of Independence to a bunch of upstart revolutionaries!

Kansas City will have to change their name 'cause the name Wizards reminds all Dwarfs (ie small people , sorry I do not know the current politically correct term) how the people in Hollywood exploited them, and how, to this day people of lesser height are refered to as munchkins!

All the people that died in the Chicago Fire (or the San Francisco earthquake or any earthquake since then... oh wait!)

How the DC United remind all people that are not... of how lonely they are...

I mean let us not stop with all of the political correctness... how about all the men and women that died in space or to and from space... now that excludes all celestial bodies and exspanses of space including the sum of all it's parts; the Galaxy!

I mean, if we want to find political incorrectness, or some body some where that was slighted or was treated badly or someone that is reminded of something bad...
We can find that anywhere and in everything! Well except the Metrostars but then i am sure I am missing some aspect of the background of the term metro but then again stars is a celestial body so i suppose that is out too....

People just need to stop being so bloody sensitive about everything.

You need to change your name, especially after Valentine's day. Your name is another form of 2...

and I am just 1.

i'm offended.

I_am_not_seen_nor_heard_I_am_a_millford_man.

You could change it to this less politically incorrect name.
Hearing_Impaired_and_ocularly_challenged_masculine_bipedal_carbon_based_life_form_originating_from_ford_of_the_Mill

I think you may be safe with that one!

Just think if 2 weeks after Checketts announced the name Real Salt Lake, he turned around and said: "On second thought, that name just doesn't work and our sponsors don't like it. We are now the Salt Lake Warriors".

At the very least, this makes MLS look very minor league (more than usual).

Personally, I am very offended at Salt Lake's choice of Real. I have sypathetic tedencies towards anarchists and Basques, and we all know that our namesake is taken from Real Madrid who was the favorite team of General Franco. Don't I have the right to enjoy a soccer match without being reminded of a facist oppressor? Stop treating me like a second class citizen!
