Andy/Jeff must go!

OK, I'm tired of seeing all of this fire Ellinger junk on the board. What we really need to do is get rid of the guys that aren't giving 100%. The coach can try to push them/motivate them, bench them, etc. but if a player is still not going to give 100%, they need to be traded or cut. We saw that problem last year with Clint, and Andy took the first half of the season off. Well, Jeff has not shown me anything this year. I'm not sure how many of you guys back in the Loyalists section could see Jason yelling and swearing at Jeff to put pressure on the ball midway through the first half, right in front of Section 37. (Way to go Jason!) Just before halftime, Jason was screaming at the coach about how "they weren't passing the damn ball". Coach was forced at halftime to replace the two guys who weren't participating as a team with two others who would.

Maybe Andy is just feeding off Jeff's behavior and work ethic. If we get rid of Jeff, Andy might go back to his 2005 RSL MVP form.

For now, I'm looking forward to next Saturday with Attiba starting again, replacing Jeff I suppose, and am hoping Andy gets his butt in gear!

A few guys had a bad game or three.
BUT the team has shown marked improvement in every match since that disastrous season opener.

Fans calling for every head on the team is not going to change anything at all...
Seriously... people are mocking Eddie Pope and questioning his worthiness to play because his mistake allowed one goal... well what about the other 30-40 clearances that were successful.

OMG Fire Ellinger cos he is not doing anything to improve the team... Yet the team is improving and he benched 2 stars because they were not performing... what more do you want? seriously!

You are calling for the heads of Jeff Cunningham and Andy Williams because they had a bad first half and got benched. But what about the goal in Houston by Cunningham? What about Williams' assist to Kreis in the first six minutes of the last match? Williams 2nd assist of the season by the way!

God forbid... if you should go into work one day and have a bad day and everybody in your building starts demanding that you get fired because of it!
do you think that will be fair? How much pressure and stress would that cause for you... and how likely would you be to have another bad day? It would be inevitable... don't you think!?

Let's try to keep a little perspective.
Yes the season opener sucked ass big time... but the team is showing improvement with every minute played.

What this team needs more than anything is consistency and stability, so that they can continue to improve.

So people just need to chill... and enjoy some soccer!

I was surprised when Andy and Jeff were benched because frankly I thought Andy was busting his butt during the first half and it was Jeff's dummy that led to the first RSL goal. Obviously, El saw something I didn't...

If you honestly think Williams and Cunningham are the issue with our team, then by all means, call for their heads. On the other hand, if Ellinger would just enforce a little discipline (no more throwing up your hands and letting the play get by you, no more sitting on the ground after getting pushed and not getting the call, etc), maybe these guys would step it up a little. Cunningham and Kreis up top a shabby pair do not make. Williams, when properly motivated and playing in the proper position, is a decent player. Ellinger has given me no true reason, especially after the first 5 games of this season, to believe he is worth his 3 year contract.

Do I believe in accountability for our players? Yes. I believe they should all receive a base salary and then get bonuses or maluses according to their performance. I also believe in accountability for our coach.
