That's the truth isn't it? Talking about time to change our tactics, I think we need to get our message out more effectively. We have a friend in Kragthorpe. RSL will support us as best as they can. The Loyalists and RCB should get together on this and we could have a rally march or something from the Capitol to Rice-Eccles. Even if we get only 100 people, it would be something. If I can make it, I will be there. It's a little difficult for some of us Utah County folk to make it up to SLC, but I don't want to see my team leave, either. I'm actually reconsidering my current home-game boycott just because of what happened yesterday. I want to hear what Checketts has to say tomorrow!!!

Bottom line: we must be ready and willing to take action to defend and support our team. No one else will do it for us. WE have to do it. And you're completely right, Aerick. How many of us want to go any further than posturing on this board? How many of us are fanatic enough to base a large share of our lives around RSL and its health and well-being? I know that I'm stretched pretty thin right now, between my wife, my new baby that's almost here, school, work, and soccer.

Why doesnt someone that can write, write up a sort of form letter. One that we can each change here and there to make it more personal and we can mail/email to whomever the powers that be are. And, Im all for a protest! 😉

I thought writing Kragthorpe was a good idea so I just sent him a thank you email as well. I live in Logan so making it to a march would be difficult, but I think it could be a good idea. I agree with the idea that we need to do something visiblt to re-affirm the local interest in RSL. I like the idea of trying to get people out to the games. I hope that will help. I also think that even having 16,000 out to a game last Saturday should be a sign that there is interest. It seems that the attendance has been interpretted negatively, but I think that instead of saying we could only get 16,000 out to a game looking at the context helps. RSL is in the midst of a 17 game winless streak and there are still 16,000 at a game! That is pretty amazing considering the situation and speaks to the interest in the team.

How about signing petitions at a home match? If someone would make a header for one that maybe mentions our support for RSL and disappointment with the county, I'd be willing to stand by stadium entrances and ask people to sign. I'm not too good at organizing my thoughts, otherwise I would write it up myself.

I like the petition idea. Probably lots of folks at the stadium would be like minded. We would need people at all of the entrances.

Yeah, I thought about petitions earlier this week, and the thought of doing them at the game seemed a good idea, except that 16,000 signatures does not a public sentiment make. You'd need a lot more, in my opinion.

OK Well instead of having the mindset that we will fail at organising a rally!!!! why don't we just find out when is best for folks and shoot for a date, time and place.

I have been involved with RSL since nearly day one so i am not blustering or posturing... I am calling people out!

If you folks think we need a rally or a march then lets do it!

I will have my sign that says "I am PRO-Soccer and I VOTE!"

or

"If you Build it they will come!"

The title of the thread is "Time to Change our Tactics"
So let's Change our Tactics.

But 16000 signatures, or even 5000 assuming not everyone will want to sign a petition, will help show that there are supporters and we have a voice. I just want to show the county that there are many of us that are willing to be vocal and want to be heard.

Our options are Friday or Saturday.
Do folks want to go after work tomorrow say 5pm-7pm at the City/County building

OR

Saturday Morning same place...

OR maybe march from the capitol (or City/County Building) up to the tailgate at RES on Saturday before the match?

then we all sign a petition and enjoy the match with our signs still raised high.

I will be sure to photograph as many signs as I see....
