What's up with the tailgate for today's game?

Should I bring another propane tank?

The lineup according to the game guide:

--------Garlick----------
-Nelson-Torres-Forko--
-----Talley--Besagno---
-Klein---------Williams-
-------Ballouchy--------
--Kreis-----Cunningham

Cutler is still hurt so we have Besagno starting. Novak has a broken hand so we have Nelson starting. 'Tiba is still suspended.

I would still like to see Besagno play but I think that we will need one more solid defender to stop the Chicago attack. Moving Talley to center with Torres and have Besagno playing a single D-Mid would be my preference.

RSL wins it in style: 3-1

Scoreless first half is followed by a flurry of goals in the second half. That game could have been a blow out. Cunningham showed us, yet again, why his transfer for Clint Mathis may have been the deal of the century! 2 goals from Cunny and an assist/ricochet.

After the first goal he actually jumped into the west stands and was mobbed by a flock of fans - freakin' awesome!!!

Andy Williams could have made this 5-1 with two near misses. RSL really did themselves proud tonight, creating several opportunities - most of them in the second half!

It feels good to be an RSL fan!!!!

Our first win over a team missing no one due to World Cup duty!

Believe it or not, there are people even more cynical than me. One of them would say that Chicago is on the last game of an epic road trip. But I don't think that Chris Armas or Zach Thornton would let their teammates mail a game in. RSL was just a better team.

We sell 13,000 tickets for a 2PM game played on a holiday weekend in weather that a Norwegian would not go out in but we don't get to 15,000 for a game played in perfect weather?

Random thoughts on a Sunday morning, pre-coffee.

Did Rolfe not make it to the game?

The shmoo bodied Plotkin had a wicked strike for that goal.

Jeff Cunningham you are my hero...

Andy Williams had some stick-um on those shoes...

I think what has been making this offense come alive is the move of Talley to midfield...

Projected lineup post World Cup.
Novak (Sans club for an arm)--Torres--Pope--Forko
Klein--Talley--Douglas--Mehdi
Cunningham--Kreis
(Clubber Harris off the bench for a yellow card and some spark)

That is a pretty sexy lineup.

Rolfe was there. We made sure he felt like a loser.
Whatever the change has been, I gotta say I am a fan of some offense.
Plus it is really fun to see the lads happy and confident in themselves.

As Vince Vaughn once said,"You're so ****ing money, you don't even know it!"
Real, you are officially ****ing money.

Oh BTW I think the league sent out an email telling bus drivers to find altenate routes to leave so that they don't get the moons over Rice Eccles. Dammit!

OK, we won again. Probably RSL's best display of soccer this year.

Starters:

Garlick:(8/10) From where I was sitting, I had the perfect angle on the Chicago goal. He could've saved it, he had plenty of time. But other than that, played well in his 100th win.

"Club Arm" Novak:(8/10) Played pretty well, missed a few passes that should've been easy.

Torres:(10/10) How did we get this guy? He is amazing in the air, as well as everywhere else. Thumbs up to him.

Forko:(9/10) Needs to learn how to take sapce, but when he does, our offense is on fire.

Talley:(7/10) Great assist for JC. Messed up a million passes tokward the end.

Cutler:(5/10) What can I say? He is horrible, or at least he was last night. We were lucky we weren't down 2-1 with his display of idiocy. After that play I ripped up his player card and through it on the field. Maybe Ellinger got the clue cause he subbed him out two minutes later.

Klein:(7/10) He didn't show up last night. He was practically invisible, but made a few great plays.

Ballouchy:(8/10) He played some great balls, but didn't do his job: to make us all laugh at the Chicago defense when he schools them. I was disappointed.

Kreis:(8/10) Played well, got some good passes in. Could've had a goal but was waved off for offsides.

Jeffy:(10/10) This guy is amazing. Thank Goodness for the idiocy of Fernando Clavijo. First goal should be a GOTW nominee, along with the second one.

Substitutes:

Williams:(9/10) Pulled some good "time wasting" moves on those Fire defenders. Especially that one at the edge of the box, brilliant.

Watson:(8/10) Knows how to waste time. Great player, speedy, skillful. We'll be seeing him a lot in the future.

When 'Tiba comes back I say we start Jeffy, but sub 'Tiba in in the 88' instead of Watson. When Pope and Seqeuira return I think the lineup will be without Cutler and Novak.

Post WC'06 lineup:
------------Garlick---
Akwari--Torres--Pope--Forko
Klein--Talley--Douglas--Medhi
-----Cunningham--Kreis

I am proud to be an RSL fan today.

You forgot Akwari.

Akwari (10/10) Excellent play. Very tenacious, Disrupted the Fire attack at many key moments. Fought for, and won, many balls that other players would have given up on.

Well, welcome to the Jeff Cunningham show. He has been RSL's offensive machine in the last four games. He has virtually 1/2 of RSL's total goals. What is RSL going to do if he gets injured or suspended?

Cunny emphatically answered the question that was on everyone's lips: Can he make as big an impact starting the game as he does coming in off the bench?

Some beautiful goals in this match, including the screamer by the Fire. Cunny's two goals were things of beauty, executed to perfection; the angles, the touch, the velocity...

If I were to vote between the two, I would take the chip, not because it was more skillfull, but just because it had more of the "wow" effect.

After the Fire scored their goal, I had the feeling like, "Haven't we seen this before? Real allows a goal just minutes after they score?"

But, Cunny comes through in a big way. Awesome display of skill and bravado. If he doesn't win Player of the Week, the MLS is smoking crack.

Excellent, excellent win.

What up with the declining attendance? (14,752)
