I suspect you'll see Watson get major minutes, possibly play a full 90, in the U.S. Open game on Tuesday. If so, cross your fingers that he produces. Should that happen I think you'll see him get more minutes in league games.....if you recall, last year it took a good performance in our friendly vs. Catolica to get him on the pitch when the bullets were real. Why Ellinger can't seem to recall the difference he made last year is beyond me. And sticking a forward on for 5 minutes is hardly a proper evaluation....most forwards take that long to figure out which direction they're supposed to go. And yet in that limited time Watson almost had a GOTW and should have had an assist (to Kreis).

Fire Ellinger!

Cunningham as a sub

I really like the post that suggested Watson and Cunningham as a one two punch. I have really hoped that Cunningham would come off the bench for a while. I think it might be hard for a proven goal scorer and a player with so much experience to come off the bench, BUT he seems to be so much more effective in that role. He scored more than half of his goals this season in that role and coming in after a player with incredible work rate like Jamie seems like it would only make him that much more effective. I wonder about some of our other more established players like Douglas and dare I say it Pope. Maybe they would also be better coming off the bench. I feel more sure about Douglas coming off the bench than Pope. It seems like benching big names would be unconventional and would require a lot of courage on the part of the coach...does Ellinger have it in him? But what have we got to lose? We are already in last place!

Yes and we should start the benching with Kreis...
