The main problem with this area, though, is it doesn't have the same scenic atmosphere that Sandy has, and that even the fairpark has.

Pros for this area include:
-Soccer Complex-able
-Growth
-Cheap
-"Stick it to SL County"

Cons include:
-Lack of scenery
-Out of Salt Lake City/County
One other Con I would add is that there aren't too many roads out that way and traffic getting in and out would be a nightmare without spending major money to add more and bigger roads.

And no public transportion/TRAX would be another one.

You have a point about the roads, although, if I remember correctly you can get onto 215 Soutbound and Northbound (which merges onto 15) and directly onto I-15 southbound from that general area. Essentially that leaves 3 different on-ramps in two different directions to choose from whereas Sandy only has 2 in two different directions. Additionally, the Commuter Rail would use existing lines that travel just west of I-15 that could be accommodated as well.

I just sent my blog entry to both papers. I wonder if they will publish it?

Yep, you can from Redwood Road, but I'm not sure if it would be able to handle that much traffic at one time.

You can drive up through Woods Cross to get to a couple of different exits, but that's pretty much it. So, in essence you would have basically 3 roads (two of which are only two lane roads) that everyone would have to travel on. I just don't see it happening without some major improvements. Maybe the Legacy Highway would help when it is finished.

You'd still have to run something out West to Redwood Road if you want the stadium there. People can't walk from I-15 down there. And I'm just not sure that even having a stadium would provide enough incentive to do something like that.

I'm not saying that these problems couldn't be solved, but they would definitely have to be addressed with any stadium in that area.

What makes you think that they want to stay here? They just got voted no by the SLC council.

All they wanted was money for the damn infrastructure.

I have e-mailed Wilde and let him know how disappointed I was in his lack of vision in his vote today. I also let him know that I will remember his vote. I urge all of you to do the same.

Dr Mr. Wilde

It is unfortunate that even with your glasses you can't see past your nose.

I will rember your deciding Vote.

You know what sucks the most about this, is that the best scenario is
RSL and its investors somehow fund the stadium, land, and ALL
the infrastructure (roads, utility lines, sewers, etc.) without a penny of county funding, and Salt Lake County will be there holding out their palm demanding RSL pay its property taxes every year.
