I can promise that it will have a stage on it. Stadiums aren't really just stadiums anymore. They are entertainment facilities.
Have you been to the Braves stadium? It is more an amusement park than a ballpark.

Oooh, ooh--can we have a little train like at F-C Field? I LOVE that thing!

Now that's just a bad promise to make. Can't they come up with something clever that would allow for full seating around the entire pitch. Removable seating or something?

Chicago has a few rows in front of the stage plus some seats on the stage. The Big Pepperoni had some removable bleachers for MLS Cup last year. __________________

I just think we have advanced enough in the engineering arena that we can design a stadium that has a stage, but is primarily a soccer stadium with full 360 degree seating. Not the 3 rows beneath the stage either, atleast 15 rows. Sorry but IMHO that's just tacky.

I wish that they wouldn't have one or at least a some kind of portable one so RSL could have seating all the way around.
Pastorino had a big part in designing the Fire's stadium and he will have a big part in this one too.

Let's be realistic here, while I would love to have things like an English pub and full 360 seating, that's not going to happen. It's more important for the whole project to turn a profit and be successful than it is for it to be what we all wish. A stage is part of this. While I would love a great European stadium, I will be realistic and want just a functional stadium that will turn a profit and keep RSL in town for the rest of my life and for my children. Now my biggest wish/hope is that they put in a first class pitch. The one thing I noticed about Chicago's field for the all-star was that it was truly a horrible mess. I'm not sure if this was because of other events there or not. They need to look around at other successful grass fields in the area, BYU comes to mind, and see what works and what doesn't. There is nothing worse than going into a stadium and seeing either a mudpit and ruts or a dry, field.

Turning a profit is important. That's why some of these wishes like a pub are important. Some of them add to the likelihood of turning a profit. You don't think that most of the new stadiums are adding things like a pub and a shop just because the fans ask them too? They're adding them cuz they hellp bring in more money during events. You've only got 2 or 3 days a month for a game so you want to get as much money as possible out of that event.
Hmmmmm.... so has there been any talk of xerascaping at the new stadium? Obviously the fields themselves need to be grass but it seems like the right thing to do when living in the middle of a semi-arid desert. __________________

I think that may be what they were talking about being environmentally friendly. You just know that Rocky put that in. Envionmentally friendly stuff actually makes a lot of economic sense long term and I'm hoping this whole thing works out long term so all the nonsoccer stadium people have to eat all the the humble pie we can dish out to them.

Well, there go the toxic spewing smokestacks behind the stage! __________________
