I want to officially say that as a SOCCER MOM I was not offended and was simply stating what I heard happened. I think it was actually a different action that Checketts is referring to. FYI...there are quite a few "Soccer Moms' standing among both groups and spread out in other areas that are just as passionate and "expressive" as you Genios.

TO THOSE SOCCER MOMS :wine:

I'm on Uncle Dave's side on this. What Pablo did was classless and immature, but it was also dangerous. When the crowd gets that ugly, to the point of throwing things on the field (without fear of punishment), it's only a small step to people rushing the field and the players. To incite those fans (very few of whom were fueled with alcohol, btw) is not just classless and immature, it's reckless. From what I saw of the security situation earlier, this could have gotten very ugly very fast, and that's what Checketts was trying to avoid. Pablo--and the rest of his team--is lucky he didn't leave in an ambulance.

If you're going to dish it out, then you have to be willing to take it. If the "soccer moms" want to complain, go right ahead. But it's not really that big of deal. What did you do, grab his balls? Please.

I mean, after all the offensive things we can do and say, at games and otherwise, why are you working to be offended by something as stupid as this?

It reminds me of a guy who once told my dad that if you spin certain vinyl records backward you can hear swear words (some of you may remember those days). My dad asked him how you spin a record backwards....he told him you do it by hand. And then my dad asked him how you get the speed right to hear them....he said you have to keep trying until you get it. At that point, my dad said,"Wow, that's a lot of work. If you want to hear some cuss words, just come on down to the locker room on Wednesday night and you'll hear plenty without any work at all."

We're all hypocrites, yes. But if you're like me and you lobbed fingers and insults at the players the entire game (and after), and then you are on here complaining about a guy flexing his muscles and grabbing his nuts, you deserve an entry next to the word in the dictionary.

Regarding your ridiculous statement Mr. Checketts, let it go. It's not a big deal. You'll send your videotape evidence to league, they'll call Masto-whatever, he'll apologize, and then everyone gets to go on with their lives again.....with the exception of everyone not acting like a child who already did.

If Utah had more people like you perhaps I would have never left!

I posted on BS that I think it okay for Mastorbati to grab himself in front of the RCB. I'm sure we gave him and the rest of the craps a whole bunch of themselves throughout the match.

but the excess and wherever else he did it crossed another line.

so both parties are right on this one.

i was sitting about 10 rows behind the rcb and the row behind a couple of families there for the first time. i was embarrassed for both of the fathers as they gathered their kids as quickly as they could and shielded their eyes from the rcb who was flipping off the crapids players. i am not condeming their behavior nr saying it was ok, that is another matter, but all of this started by very unprofessional and unclassy play. not only did they disrespect our team by not kicking the ball out of bounds, but they make fools of themselves stomping around on the pitch. if mr "ruin our world cup with a dumb a$$ redcard" did such to uncle dave then he deserves to be punished, and is completly classless. i understand that most of you didn't mind it, but you are forgetting about the other 17,000 of us (mostly kids). we complain about the NBA and all the crap that goes on and how horrible it is, and then we invite that stuff into our world class sport?? BS. that is one of the things that has attracted me to the mls, the sportsmanship (no a-holes out there thinking they are God's gift to the world), the lack of overpaid spoiled babies, and clean fair play. we got none of it last night except for the rsl players that were a class act by walking off the field.

Games like that we need to ditch Salsa Gringa and get battle music in there. Taiko drums are the answer

Overall, I enjoyed the match. There were moments in there where both teams were playing some exciting attacking futbol. The quick transitions made it exciting to watch. I didn't see that slinky type of play that RSL had played so long with. Fun to watch.

The other great thing that came out of the match was a true "darby" feeling. (As true as I can imagine, seeming how I've never actually experience a European darby, anyway you get my point).

Yes, it freakin pisses me off that the classless crapids took the cup, but how sweet will it be when we push them out of the playoffs this year and take the cup next year? The passion that is being created with this rivalry is awesome.

By the way, the next time we play them bast***ds, and we travel that way, we should paint their logo on their stadium red (I believe it will be done by then) or something fun like that. 🙂
