I have never heard a truer statement... is truer a word?

👍

Yes.

But consider...What better way to make converts than to hire the enemy to call the play by play for our games. 😉 By the second game he'll be a lifetime convert...or he'll be fired. 🙄

C'mon, that's funny!

Rome used to bash on NASCAR and now he pimps it like crazy. Once he starts to see the soccer craze taking America by storm he'll embrace it. Or to use a Rome analogy: Soccer is like beer, at first you spit it out and think it's the worst stuff on earth, but the more you try it the more you like it. Pretty soon you can't ever imagine how you lived without it. Okay, maybe those aren't his exact words but you get the picture. I personally would like to hear Bill Riley on Hot Ticket 700 call the games. Riles is a big fan of futbol. I even talked to him today and he said that he never misses a World Cup.

So I am going to defend Hatch here... (I know hell freezing twice in such a short time is amazing)

Talking to the guy he said that he has never really given soccer the time of day. He feels that it will be much like how he treated NASCAR... bagged on it until he tried it. He is trying to learn the game and says he may become more of a fan now that he is trying it out. Hatch was very humble and constantly asking people for help with terms and how to describe certain things. So, I think that he may actually do a good job. While he is still not my first choice and I still think it would be nice if 1280 actually talked sports... not a couple buddies hanging out talking about whatever with an occasional sports reference, I am going to give him till mid-season to prove himself.

Not to be Nitpicky, but Romey Van Cienfuegos bagged on NASCAR until he realized that its ratings were almost as big as the NFL's.............

Then he tried it.

Then he became NASCARFan.

Poll on their site today about how excited you are for the upcoming season. Just in case you want to vote.

(Hint for Jake: Scroll down and click on the poll options, NOT the "Road to the Final Babe" graphic)

They're also discussing the viability of a soccer team in Utah this morning. Poking fun, etc.
