Galaxy just looked like a more precise and much quicker team out there Saturday.

I'm glad that Rover saw Mathis working hard and running hard during the game, because besides a couple of nifty moves, I could have easily forgotten that he was in the game. I'm not sure that it's all his fault, though, especially in the 2nd half when the ball never seemed to make it past midfield.

I also thought that Akwari (a.k.a. "the Minister") had a more solid game than you thought he had. At the very least, he was our 2nd best defender. He does need to work on his lateral quickness, though. Our outside backs (Harpo, Pierce/Rojas) looked like they were running in slow motion compared to the LA attack. I can't remember too many crossing attempts that were stifled and we were being trampled on the sides. I liked Rojas a lot better in the midfield.

Ellinger must have a lot of confidence in O'Brien. I really hope he turns out to be a solid backup at that spot. I thought it was a bit odd that he didn't sub in a forward and move Mathis back.

The highlight of the evening, of course, was the 29th minute. Any time that we can get a group of people to simultaneously yell loud enough to scare a waitress into dropping all of the food that she was carrying -- that's a good thing. (My apologies to whoever was supposed to be getting that food).

Iggy's was really cool, btw. Did anyone mention that they purchased Direct Kick?

Me too!

I was a little confused about the midfield after Williams left as well -- it seems like the natural thing to do would be to drop Mathis back into that attacking slot. We did seem a bit lacking in that respect at any rate.

It's still a work in progress though. And I think I've been a bit spoiled by Wengerball.

I think that if Williams is out for a while, we may see Mathis drop back and Dipsy moved up front with Kreis. I was actually surprised they didn't do this at half-time.
