RSL vs. CRapids [R]

I couldn't find any analysis thread on this big match!

This Saturday, 1:00 local time at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
TV: ESPN2
National Weather Service now says "Sunny, Hi: 75 degrees F" So if that holds true it should be a pleasant day.

Both teams are at the bottom of the Western Conference, with 1 point and 0-1-1 records. This is the first meeting between the two teams, and the first match in the Rocky Mountain Cup.

I think I give the edge to ReAL for many reasons. One I would highlight is that they (ReAL) should be 1-1-0 if not for awful weather and perhaps 2-0-0 if not for injury. I don't know if weather had much to do with the cRapids first result (a blizzard?) but the other reason has got to be Home Field Advantage: ReAL.

I will guaranasstee you that RSL will come out fired up for this game. I also bet that Colorado really wants this one. That should make for some good soccer. I bet RSL comes out on top.

RSL by 2 points. Kreis and Mathis both score. Colorado limps home, licking their wounds. We are well on our way to win the Rocky Mountain Cup.

So are we going to have a prediction thread on when the rapids will have their only shot of the game. Will the lone shot on goal come in the first half or the second half?

Am I the only one who's too superstitious to bag on the Crapids like that? I'm not going to be held responsible for jinxing anything! 😉

I think you are the only one who knows what that means. But all the same, it makes me think of a few years ago...Galaxy vs. Earthquakes...in comes a substitution, and someone on the Galaxy board says, "Oh, it's Rodrigo Faria, that guy couldn't score in a Porno."

Oooops...could the jinx have been more certain? Only if you were Gary Anderson lining up to kick the game winning field goal to go to the super bowl and the TV announcer says, "Gary Anderson hasn't missed one kick all year!"
