I was very impressed that after the most unwarranted ejection I have ever witnessed, we did NOT sit back and hide, but pushed ahead and attacked the ball at least as well if not better than we had all night. It didn't seem to give FCD any additional advantage (but then, how much more dominating could they get).

Here we go, ReAL! We're still with you.

Last week was only the begining!

BTW: Does anyone know the league's policy on reviewing poor calls?

ya, I'm not saying that the refs beat us. FC Dallas is much better than RSL, and in my opinion the best team in the league.
I don't know if you can defend a free kick from 20 yards out very well
I can see how they called a PK there, but I don't think it should have been
Johnson - wow

Rover and the rest of you fellas.
I watched the tape of the Ruiz "DIVE" several times, Dunseth wasn't even touching him.

Sure Dallas was much better, they deserved to win. But I will not believe for a second that Ruiz deserved that foul (and thus Mulrooney scores).

As for the Pope red card, the ref needs to get a new job or at least watch the game he is officiating.

BTW, from the Dallas News:

Johnson unhurt: FC Dallas fans gasped as Eddie Johnson lay on the turf in obvious pain for about two minutes following after Eddie Pope's awkward 72nd-minute challenge – a foul that earned the well-respected U.S. international defender an immediate expulsion.

Afterward, Johnson said he was faking the injury, hoping to draw the foul.

"I still can't do it as well as him," Johnson said, laughing, and pointing toward teammate Carlos Ruiz.

I think I hate Johnson more than Ruiz now. Ruiz at least doesn't talk about how much he fakes diving. MLS should punish him.

Gamesmanship like that diving crap is one reason why many Americans hate this game.

Agree. I never said that was a foul--it was a classic Ruiz flop. My criticism was about how we didn't defend the free kick that followed and put us down 0-1 early. We really never recovered any intiative after that.

What I did say is that the penalty call against Rusty WAS deserved, despite some embellishement. If you take someone down from behind in the box, you better get ball or we're lining up for the spot kick.

And the only way to stop it is good officiating. It's better now than it was a few years ago, but what I saw on Saturday made me sick. Every official in MLS knows what Ruiz does. If they don't reward him, he'll start playing soccer.

Is this for real? Was he being serious? Punk should be fined for comments like that.

Can't wait for FCD at the Galaxy next weekend. Between Ruiz, Donovan, and now Johnson and the other divers, half the players will be flopping around on the field and the other half ejected from the game. 😉
