red iguana = super good food.

I have to admit that I am not as informed as it seems that most of you are...but man I wish this stadium thing could happen downtown. We have the chance to have something special in this community. Downtown would be good for us and for the community, whereas I just feel like you lose an awful lot when you move away from the downtown area. It would just be a different less exciting experience. I think I would prefer to stay at rice eccles until a good stadium option surfaced than rushing into/settling for a soccer specific stadium in a below average site.

Williams was stunned to learn he had been left unprotected for the expansion draft after leading the Fire in assists for two straight seasons and helping them win the 2003 MLS Cup championship.

That will come as quite a shock to the Earthquakes.

Naw, they've probably known for quite some time that they aren't really an MLS team. 😉

Downtown (although it is sounding less and less likely)

Sandy (after this it has grown on me)

Murray (not sure why this has fallen and Sandy has moved up, guess I too can flipflop)

Fairpark (this is only because I have heard of no other options)

Maybe wherever the grass goes, we should build a stadium around the grass. :D

I saw a map of the proposed Fair Park site in the Tribune this morning and it included a proposed Trax location nearby as well.

In real life though, Anderson complains about the Sandy stadium being too far from the bars and night spots but the Fairpark is in the middle of a residential area as well. It reminds me, in a very very bad way, of Franklin-Covey field. They said it would 'revitalize' the neighborhood and it has done nothing for it! Either have it in proper downtown or put it in a commuter friendly place... not some half measure 'the land is free' 'what's that smell, oh yeah, the pigs...' place.
I couldn't agree more! Either put it downtown, or put it down south in Sandy or Murray!

Don't forget about Johanna's Kitchen which would practically be across the street!
