In case you guys didn't catch it, SLC now wants the SSS at Fairpark, near the intersection of W I-80 and N I-15.

Is that good?

I like the location better than Sandy or Murray, and the fact that the land would be free is a double bonus!

If it can't go downtown, this is where I'd want it.

I dont like the fairpark.

Hepetitis Row is what i've always called the section of North Temple that the fairpark sits on, caue so many resturant near it have had bad outbreaks.

Used to live down the street from there. not that great of a place to hang out.

I agree. I never lived there, but aside from a concert there, I never saw a reason to go there. Although the Red Iguana is there and it is GREAT mexican food.
It is only about 1 mile from downtown, but I think everyone would just get on the freeway and go home, similar to Murray.

I think that would be a great location, I could walk to games if I wanted :D

One question though, would they be able to serve beer because it's on state grounds?

The fact that the land is already paid for is a massive plus.

The fact that there is currently no light rail or commuter rail going to the Fairpark is a massive minus.

Kerry, Bill and Gina were talking about the stadium on the Radio from Hell show this morning.
You can tell they really don't approve of public funding but they did sound a bit softer on the whole idea... meaning they were not just dismissing it and laughing about it like they have in the past.

I wonder how much it would cost to have shuttles going from Trax at the Delta Center to the fairpark.
