It's official then. Coach Ellinger says Jamie "has given us a great spark," so,

Sparky it is.

There's a reason why my mom sold a 50-year-old, 3 bedroom, 2 tiny bathroom house in a College Ghetto for $450,000.

Southern Californians do lots of stupid things, but closing schools and fire stations and giving the money thereby saved to millionaires & billionaires is not one of them.

Too many metaphors and Southern California references to decipher for 9 am. Please speak morning-ese for the half-asleep person over here. :D

Well, if you don't count the University of California.

Really needed that new campus in Merced.

Merced?

But point taken. Don't even say the word "tax" in California. Let alone enact one for a sports facility.

Except in San Diego. Can you say "PETCO Park?"

That could go along nicely with Ellinger's own nickname for Watson. On Tuesday's interview on 1280 Ellinger said that he called Watson "the Pest."

So

Sparky Pest it is.

Or, maybe, put them together to get "Pesky."

Maybe not.

There's an article in today's New York Times about the new Yankee Stadium (I'd include a link, but I'm lazy. And I think you have to be registered.), which King George I is paying all (or most) $800 million for himself. Of course, there's some stat in there about how they draw something like 4 million fans a season. So they've got the cash. Maybe Uncle Dave should pal up with some other local friends, like the Huntsmans or the Sorensons or the Eccles.

I agree with coach on this one. Jaime comes in with a ton of energy and helps out the team a ton. There's no way he can go that hard for 90 minutes, though. I love him as a second half sub - maybe even put him in at the start of the second half. Give him time to grow and develop, and learn how to pace himself so he can be a star for the full 90 minutes.

I heard the announcers of the RSL/Galazy match saying how much Landycakes had improved over the years. Apparently, he used to run all over the place, just full of energy. Now he paces himself.

I just thought that your post was insightful, beaveman.
