Hey everyone, I was thinking the other day about the Bouncing Souls Ole song.

I was wondering if we do decide to sing that song, if it would be easier if we cut alittle bit out of it. I was thinking the shorter it is the more likely it will be that we can sing it well.

Of course keep all of the Ole-Ole-Ole-Ole stuff the same.

But then,

"RSL no one can beat us
We drink milk and wear Adidas
Win or loose we're having fun
We won't quit until we're done
We've got heart when we play
Take you on any day"

That way we would be cutting out the "Anywhere we get the itch, we're off to find a proper pitch, Lace yourself lets get on out, off we go to kick it about." Which is a part of the song where people could mess it up, get it wrong or the song could start to die off.

Anyway, those were my thoughts.

change the clinta to cleatus and it flows a bit better... maybe drop the mathis and make it just cleatus-cleatus

Just a thought! very catchy tune... and everyone and their brother knows it so it is likely to catch on!

ClintaMathis ClintaMATHis
ClintaMATHis

etc.

anything to make the song flow better and make it easier for people to remember it is OK in my book.

I am working on the one I posted to try and make it flow better...
I will be posting it again if I can make it better... if not this will probably be the last mention of it!

I'm actually going to see the Bouncing Souls in Las Vegas next Saturday (with Me First and the Gimme Gimmes). I love that song! Bouncing Souls are a great band and great supporters of the game. The cd in their self titled album is in the shape of a soccer ball.

Ok, I propose one more change to the song.

You're probably thinking if we keep cutting stuff out that by the end there won't be anything left.

But I was going over it in my head and because the ole ole ole ole chorus has four lines to it I thought it may sound better and again be easier to have four lines in the verse.

How 'bout

RSL no one can beat us
We drink milk and wear Adidas
We've got heart when we play
Take you on any day

Either way is fine with me. I already walk around singing the original long version, but I can deal with whatever. Actually I'd like it to be a little longer, but I'll go with whatever the group wants.

Okay, I've been talking about singing this Ligabue song ever since it was a rumor that SLC might be in the running to get a team! I have finally uploaded it, but since I just have space on geocities, I'm sure it will shut down before too long. If it doesn't work just try back in an hour or so.

Urlando Contro Cielo - Ligabue

I think it would sound very very cool if we all sang it from our section!

That is pretty cool. I like it.

And if someone else hasn't done it by the time I get home, I'll upload it to my webspace so your Geocities won't get overloaded by downloads.

Also, it would be funny if we sang the "always and forever" song from the end of Napolean Dynamite.

At the DC United - Harbor View match, when a Jamaican guy was seemingly faking an injury, the fans all started singing Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" and I laughed out loud. It was great.

I'm working on an original song - an "RSL Hymn" of sorts... if anyone has any grandiose phrases or suggestions please post them!

Tell me if these lyrics are dumb. I'll figure out exactly how the tune goes later, but if the lyrics are dumb I'll start from scratch.

Hymn of the Loyalists

LaLaLa La La LA LA
(medium)(low)(high)

Loyal to the crown we are
Forever shall we be
We’re here through all
In rain or snow
To show our loyalty!

If RSL is on the pitch
We’ll never let you down
For loss or draw
and every win
We’re loyal to the crown!

LaLaLa La La LA LA
Forever Loyal!
LaLaLa La La LA LA
Forever Loyal!

(shift up a step)

LaLaLa La La LA LA
Forever Loyal!
LaLaLa La La LA LA
Forever Loyal!
