Good work, Jake. I like it. Now get Loyal1 to musicalize it. He seems to be the resident Professional Musician.

I had to laugh at the idea of singing the "Always and Forever" at part of the game. I don't know why, but that is just hilarious. For those who don't recall, we're talking about the song from the wedding scene on Napoleon Dynamite. The lyrics are cheesy, but guaranteed to make anybody who has seen the movie laugh:

"We met in a chatroom, now our love can fully bloom... Sure the world wide web is great, but you, you make my salivate... I love technology, but not as much as you, you see... But I STILL love technology... Always and forever. Our love is like a flock of doves, flying up to heaven above... always and forever, always and forever... Why do you need me? Why do you love me? Always and forever... "

Somebody has to change the lyrics to make that work for us.

Also, a request from the female Loyalists. Let's make some of these songs work for people who aren't basses. I have quite a large range, but some songs y'all sing are just too, too low for a soprano. I guess I could always shift it up an octave if I needed to... anyway, just a consideration! :D

pirates and more

hello there. i am way excited that you all are trying to come up with songs and chants for the games. 75 of my friends and i will be behind the north goal for the home opener. my brother has a band, 30_Life_Code and most of my friends are quite familiar with their songs. Two of the songs we will be singing are ones that they sing. you are all welcome to join in and sing along when we are singing.

the first song i present to you is called, "It's A Plunderful Life." If you couldnt already tell it is a pirate song. This song is way fun and easy to sing. While singing everyone puts their arms on the shoulders of those next to them and does a pirate jig from left to right. I am including a link to the bands website, the link should take you directly to the lyrics for "It's A Plunderful Life." If you want to hear how it sounds you can use your elementary web navigating skills to hear or download the song from the same website.http://cc.usu.edu/~dwickham/30_life_code/lyrics.htm#pirate

The second song we will be singing is a Misfits cover of "We are 138". This song most of my friends also know well, and if you dont know it, after one listen you will know it. instead of singing "We are 138" (pronounced one-thirtyeight) we are going to sing "We are ReAl Salt Lake" it should be fun. i am also including the lyrics for that song, but i am afraid i dont know how to get you the music. http://www.metrolyrics.com/lyrics/127114/Misfits/138/

Scarecrow you are the man! What do you think of the songs we have been talking about (Bouncing Souls, etc.)? You are setting a record for the poster repped the quickest after signing up!

...you have 75 friends?

i love the bouncing souls, but i havent listened to them in a while, so i am not aware of the song you are referring to.

as for the friends, i have a crew that i have grown up with in slc, and when you are single at USU for four years you get to know a lot of people. the great thing is that all of those coming love soccer and are as stoked as i am for this first game. it is just too bad that they dont have season tickets, but they will be attending many games especially after they have the experience of their lives at the home opener.

The Bouncing Souls song is called "Ole!" you can find it on Amazon.com (in part.) It's also on Launch but you just have to rank it high and hope your player plays it.

I agree with you, we need to have the atmosphere at that first game absolutely rocking, so everyone will want to come back.

I am uploading it to the Loyalist site.
