2 supporters groups for Columbus. They hate each other so bad that they barely even care about soccer anymore, it seems. You can read all about it on BS, in the Crew Supporters Clubs forum. But it's like watching a wreck happen.

Thanks. It won't get to that here.

I think that is an entirely fair criticism.

I really don't know what you have against me personally, or why you think I am trying to rip something apart at the seams (or what makes you think you can deduce my intentions from behind a computer screen). I am not.

However, as I have said in another thread, if this is a legitimate concern that you have it is a serious one. I would be willing to ask Neil to take down the Rogue Cavaliers Brigade sub-forum. Would that ease your concerns? I make that as an honest offer of good will. You, and a handful of others are reading something into this that is unwarranted. I don't think it is healthy for the larger community of RSL fandom.

It isn't so much you as much as how you respond to people on the forums. I'm sure you're a pleasant person to talk to. I'm upset about the whole screwing with the support for the team which I believe centers around you. I also get upset when people sound more arrogant than I am, (if you knew me you would get that joke) If I am mistakent in that assumption, you have my humblest apologies.

I really don't want to carry on with this, it grows tiresome. I don't want RCB off the forum, either. I just want everyone to remember that this is all about the team. I don't want a repeat of the Columbus situation that Jake just informed me about.

I truly enjoy and appreciate OldSka, and the Brother's Enger and their posts on these forums (or is it singular, forum?). I think that OldSka has been nothing but diplomatic about his posts recently, and that's impressive considering some of what appears to me to be harsh words.

With that said, I don't quite understand what's going on here with the faction, splinter group, break-off, whatever-you-want-to-call-it that is RCB. It seems, from my perspective, to be counter-productive. Case in point, is this hymn issue. I thought the hymn was a great idea, and kudos to RCB for producing one. Heck, the words were great and the tune was great, although I thought the pitch was too high to be realistic for strained vocal chords at the end of the game. Now, however, it sounds like it's going to include verbiage specific to RCB as opposed to being more generically about RSL. Therein lies what I consider to be the problem with multiple supporters groups.

Consider this: RCB completes their hymn with allusions to their group. The Loyalists decide to create a hymn of their own because they aren't RCB, and would rather not sing a song that makes it sound as if they are actually RCB members as opposed to Loyalists, so they decide to come up with their own hymn. Great! Except when the two, who happen to sit right next to each other, want to sing their respective hymns at the same time. It sounds more like unintelligible garbage to the rest of the stadium than anything resembling heart felt support for RSL.

Additionally, what's the purpose of having multiple supporters groups if we can't agree on chants/songs/cheers? The purpose of a supporters group is to support the team, and part of that is to help the rest of the crowd support the team. We can't do that if we aren't on the same page at the games.

I guess something like this is bound to happen in a microcausm society that is this forum and the supporters group that is the Loyalists.

This will never happen and to even mention it worries me. No one of the RCB has brought that up.....so lets put that aside. 👍

(Addendum A)

To reiterate, I think the Brother's Enger are some of the best RSL fans out there right now. I mean, they border on the insane, and obviously DJ was appreciative last game. I'm not sure about OldSka because I've never been to a game with him. But I can say that it would be a shame to lose them from the Loyalists group.

From what I understand (which may not be much), the leadership of the Loyalists haven't had any disagreements with any members of RCB, therefore, I can't really see it maintaining itself as a separate supporters group due to "creative differences", or preferring a different direction or different leaders. I could be wrong there. I was under the impression that there were disagreements with other members of the Loyalists, which is fine, but I can't imagine that would/should warrant a separation.

I sincerely hope it becomes more of a chapter-type setup as Jules mentioned earlier. That way we can still maintain smaller groups of individuality as well as the unity of the larger group. Please, please, please let this be how it turns out.

Aerick, thank you for the kind words.

I think this talk and concern about "what would happen if..." is unwarranted. No one is talking about a schism, except for a few people not in the Rogue Cavaliers Brigade. I honestly do not see it as an issue. You have used the word "faction" in a couple of posts now, and I think that is inaccurate as well...I don't see any one group as a faction.

Well, that is not entirely true...the great skatepunk band of the 80s, The Faction, was a faction...and one I certainly enjoyed a great deal.

In any case, all this handwringing over who is what and what might happen someday is not leading to a healthy community. I still have my offer to ask Neil to delete the Rogue Cavaliers Brigade subforum on the table.

I just realized that I was sitting with the RCB and not the Loyalists on Wednesday. Not that it matters any. Both groups were doing a great job cheering and supporting our team. Hopefully both groups will continue to grow. The bottom line is that RSL gets our support. I'm not even sure why there are two factions anyway.

I think that ultimately, this is the bottom line, correct?
