So perhaps he should be used as a starter instead of a finisher? I think you may be right about us needing energy at the beginning of the game, as opposed to the end. I think other potential "energizer's" are Trembly and Tiger. Does Trembly play defense better than Tiger? Perhaps we could get Jamie in early to energize our first half, and then sub him out at half for Trembly or Tiger - depending on what type of production or strategy we needed after seeing what happened with the first half. Just a couple of thoughts...

Because refs (in my opinion) give far too much protection to goal keepers. There was a scramble in the box and in theory the offensive player has as much right to go for the ball as anyone, but a lot of times it isn't called that way. __________________

(Take all this with a huge grain of salt-- Ellinger et al. obviously know a lot more about coaching than I do!) It just seems like we dig ourselves a little too deep in the hole before we try to correct the course with subs or adjustments or even just level of commitment. Obviously, had we played the first half with the same energy as the second half, we could have done some great stuff- maybe not prevented any goals, but at least we could have outscored them. I always feel like Jamie comes in ten minutes too late to really have the effect that we want. Maybe start Tiger more-- he does seem to have energy from the get-go, although we haven't seem him much for a while. | |||||
