Of course that is not the person's real name. But all indications are that Ramone should be trusted. Think of Ramone as the answer to Knowonenose.

FWIW, on AM700 w/ Riley yesterday afternoon, Chris Klein said that Ellinger went off on the team after the game on Saturday, irate with the lack of effort and hustle. He said that 2 players in particular took the brunt of the attack (read between the lines -- AW and JC), but that if Coach would have had the possibility of subbing out 11 players at the half he probably would have done it.

As for the project, it sounds like if you can't get the team working together, it's time to call the project off and focus on restarting, restaging, or just shelving the project altogether. Whether you're a part of the picture or not, well that's up to your superiors. Bottom line is, Pastorino and Checketts will have to decide whether the players are at fault or if Ellinger is. For some of us fans, the fault lies pretty obviously with Ellinger. We may be wrong. I still feel that Ellinger can do more. We have way too much talent to be sucking it up as bad as we are. As Scholesy likes to point out, we aren't terribly well-informed. I think we should all remember that, whatever viewpoint we are advocating. Even taking this into consideration, I still feel that boycotting and requesting that Ellinger either get his team in gear one way or another or lose his job is the right thing to do. My wife feels the same way. We are no longer going to pay for what we have seen, for the mediocrity that frustrates us to no end. No one else here has to do what we are doing. I like all of this discussion, and even though we disagree on many points, I think we all agree on one thing: we want a REAL team. We want to win, and we want to at least make it to the playoffs this year. Gonna happen? Don't know. For all you "Support Ellinger" folk out there, what do you think needs to happen if we lose to the Crew this weekend? Yeah they have talent and they beat the Galazy at home, but I truly doubt that they outclass us by any serious margin in terms of talent or teamwork (although their coach is pretty good 😉 ). In my opinion, we should walk all over the Crew this weekend like we should have walked all over RBNY. I hope we don't lose, and I hope we don't tie. If we do lose, I think that may be the straw that breaks RSL's back. ⚽ Geoff ----------------------- REGULATORS! Mount up! CRUSH THE CREW!

The fact is: I know that I'm not an insider. I know I've communicated with insiders. I know that the facts even from communicating with insiders are often tainted, but Ramone's claims were pretty specific and Scholesy did a great job of putting him in his place.

As for you sitting behind your computer repeating over and over the words "THE REEL", go for it. It makes for a funny image in my mind.

![]() And here's a picture from one of those moments 😁 Sorry, it's just that the end result is still the same whether one buys into a outrageous claim of "they never cover tactics" or the more realistic scenario where they do cover tactics. The end result is game after game the defense has keystone cops moments (a bigger mess up than just missing a mark) and other things like "crashing the net" on free kicks still isn't happening. We have the most expensive defender in the league, one of the most expensive defenses in the league even sans Eddie Pope and yet they have the worst defense in the league (11 GA). This is a team that is still bleeding goals and at that at a pace worse than last years. If you think the last time they won was frustrating, the last time they have a clean sheet was July 23rd when they beat Dallas 3-0 @ RES. Before that? 2-0 over FCD back on June 4th. They have a veteran defense, an improved midfield and teams are still having better luck with RSL than they'd have a brothel after winning the lottery. IIRC they have yet to blank a team on the road. So in the end, I don't really care what Ellinger is or isn't doing. It's painfully obvious they're not working. I can see that both in the play on the pitch and in the statistics. That said, I can see why people defend Ellinger. Too often fans get caught up in the crap logic of "anything is better". Too often fans take joy in getting a coach canned when the coach doesn't live up to their expectations. Look at the yahoos in LA. Sampson wins the double and they're ready to have his scalp. Or look at Columbus. The fans never liked Andrulis yet he got them their only supporters shield (IIRC). They may not have been the best of coaches but, hey, that's life. Look at Sunderland, god knows why they fired Mick. I don't liek the guy but it was painfully obvious that team was screwed before the season started. Instead of biting the bullet and keeping a good coach that got them to the prem, keeping their squad together, and coming back stronger (they need time to pay down big debts), they fired McCarthy. And since firing them, they're record is even worse. What was the point? It didn't make anythign better. In fact, I'm willing to bet they'll be floundering for a few years in the fizzy pop going for gaffer to gaffer. I'm more than happy to point out that as a coach, Ellinger sucks and should be destroyed. But the time to fire him was last october, not now. If things aren't going well come august that's when the question should begin. But for all we know the new team (cuz it really is; only 3 starters on opening day were with the team last year) could pull together and put together a string of wins and ties that make the team look good. It could happen. Some big guns in teh MLS will go gone for the WC and RSL's offense has been scoring fairly consistantly (only 1 shutout in 5 games; much better than last year). If the defense can stop a few more, the team hold on to the ball a bit better, the team could be have a nice run of form. __________________
