THis was in the Denver Post...

I don't remember hearing that Uncle Dave already had 90 Million ear marked. That's good news.

Here's the excerpt.

... Real Salt Lake's dream of a soccer-specific stadium took a hit last week when Salt Lake County denied the Utah team public money it was hoping to receive from a hotel tax. Real Salt Lake owner Dave Checketts said the club privately has raised about $90 million for the venue, which will cost an estimated $145 million.

Someone explain to me where the "privately donated" $90 million is coming from?
Private businesses in Utah? Mafia? Syphoned US Pell Grants?

Don't get me started on the federal government and their "support" for Pell Grants... apparently nobody in Washington has ever heard of Bourdieu and social replication theory, the ****ers...

Does it matter? He has private financing secured. Do we really care who his investors are?

It's alive!

Sandy City is stepping up and things could be back on track.

Nice!

Isn't this a new location for the SSS or have I been sleeping?

The location is usually dubbed "9400 South State" and that is the closest major intersection... however the actual stadium site will be the large brown patch just above and to the left of your arrow on that map.

The brown patch makes it look like thay have already started... πŸ™‚

The trax line runs to the east of that location. In the 9000 - 9400 South block it runs right next to Center Street. Apparently a trax stop will be built somewhere in that block.

The existing trax stops are at 9000 South and 10200 South

Google Maps only allows you to mark intersections, but I assume then the blue blob on the Trib map is the same as the brown blob on the Google Map. Looks like its been cleared in the least year.

Looks like good access on 9400 and on State Road. Plus its in-between 2 interchanges of I-15. Good location.
