I love politics, becasue Caroon may feel that he won this time around. However, I would be very suprised if SL County (Caroon) doesn't starting getting treated a lot like SL City (Rocky) up on capital hill. The county will pay a steep price for this as has been alluded to by many politicians. Politicians are among the most vendictive people on the planet. They will exact revenge for turning back on a back room deal.

I don't think he'll be treated poorly. Senator Stephensen already praised the decision. He's as big as it gets on the hill.

Corroon will survive as long as Sandy still gets a big cut of the TRT money, which they will. That's what this is about really.

They'll soon forget about the stadium.

Unless Sandy wants to find a way to take the financial burden on itself in which case its out of SLCo's hands anyway.

Section 37, while I value your opinions, you really depress me man. It's seems ironic that you would start a thread called "step back from the ledge", and yet be almost the single source that seems to be driving me closer.

Sorry. I don't mean to.

I actually am still optomistic about RSL's stadium. I think we'll see a cleaner, better plan emerge over the next several months.

I think it will include a fair amount of public money and it will definitely include a wider spectrum of political support.

That sounds great, but how do you see that happening? I mean the public money issue specifically? Where would this money come from because this last round has been a disaster!

You forgot: "As long as it isn't in Sandy."

Ok, so maybe this is really naive of me; but why can't they just find a hefty sponser? I.E Home Depot center, Red Bulls...to fund the stadium?

Kragthorpe alluded to this in his article today. SLC doesn't have the wealth of large corporate entities as do New York and Los Angeles, therefore, the pickin's are much slimmer here. To get 100+ million in private investment to begin with was a great move by Checketts, IMO.

That's probably where a good portion of the $95M they've already got is coming from.
