That is pretty cool... although it will be a bit of a walk compared to where the trax stops at RES... Some people will complain... but then it could stop right in front of some people's seats and they would find something to moan about! π π

You do because those parnters have had some successful projects. But they've also had a couple bungles, including a brief in and back out ownership of DC United. __________________

Fairpark back into play Mayor Rocky Anderson is now trying to get in to the game more by offering the Fairpark again.
http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=148&sid=322220 One interesting tid-bit towards the end of the interview is how the Mayor sees it being turned into more of a gateway into the city from the West instead of just a stadium built in an open parking lot. He'd like to see housing developement, retail, office space, etc. along the North Temple corridor.

jackass??? Maybe...but great timing on his part to try and revive SLC's chances at getting the stadium.
Rocky gets to suggest a deal that seems to make sense to everyone...less tax money...better use of the Fairpark...the State is happy...allegedly the county is happy...etc. Unfortunately, what Rocky either doesn't know or is ignoring is that RSL's private funding is based primarily on the hotel...not the stadium...and there is no way Checketts' private finaciers are going to go along with building a hotel at that location. It is too far away from downtown to be a downtown hotel...isn't close enough to the airport...isn't near a convention center like the Sandy location. Also, he is conveniently ignoring the fact that RSL has already purchased (binding agreement to purchase, maybe) the land in Sandy. So, the only way this ends up a Fairpark is if Sandy cannot find any way to convince Carroon that theirs is the best deal...AND RSL coompletely reworks the private financing to get it done without the hotel. Interesting times...and props to Rocky for finally playing the political timing game correctly.
