I agree. The way this has been playing out is very interesting. Let's hope it turns out for the best.

Hot Ticket is asking for people to call in and is asking the question: "What can we do to keep this here?"

Gist of Checkett's interview on The Zone:

Its easier to make things happen in NY than in SLC. The actions of the Salt Lake County council are inexplicable.

People say they support him but then flip-flop their votes.

Dave Wilde flip-flopped his vote because he was getting stiffed for $3M.

World class cities have world class facilities. He is brining capital from NY to build this.

People are finding a reason to say no.

Trying to get through 9 members of the county council is impossible.

Dave Wilde quote: "The more negative things I hear from Dave Checketts the more unlikely I am to change."

It is so petulant.

Dave Wilde told Dave Checketts at least twice to his face how supportive he was of what Checketts was doing.

Govt. Huntsman couldn't believe the way the council had acted.

If this was an NFL team or an MLB team we would already have the votes. Soccer isn't there yet in the US.

RM will be here Aug. 10-12. Practice, clinics, etc. His vision was to have David Beckham and Jason Kreis together with shovels.

"I have to think about that [August 12] as really the deadline's here. In my own mind, I think we ought to consider that the deadline. If we don't have a result by then, then I won't have any alternative but to put the team up to the highest bidder."

LHM called legislators on the hill and encouraged them to vote against using the TRT money.

He's lobbied the city mayors involved against having the stadium.

LHM didn't call back Checketts' phone call. He didn't respond to an invitation by Govt. Huntsman to talk about Checketts' vision for soccer in Utah.

For LHM to say that he hasn't helped to derail this is at the very least very insincere.

LHM has such a short memory. Checketts begged Spencer Eccles to loan LHM money to save the Jazz.

If LHM had talked to Checketts, he would know that Checketts has a commitment from his own partners and and signed deal from Goldman Sachs -- the Whitehall Street Real Estate Fund in NY to fund $100 billion of equity towards the real estate project in Sandy.

LHM's team plays in a publicly-funded stadium. His baseball is totally publicly funded. He renogiated with the city so he doesn't have to pay rent there. Its totally funded by the public.

Dave is angry that LHM has tried to derail this, lobby the legislators against this and then say he hasn't done anything but try to help it.

The ratings in the US for the World Cup final were higher than game 7 of the NBA finals.

Dave is looking for some cooperation from some place.

Its important to win but this is an expansion club. Its going to take a while to get to first place.
