I think the biggest problem for both RCB and the Loyalists is that the ticket nazis are not letting people come and join unless they have the right ticket. At the Madrid match, I understand because it was a sell out. For other matchs, it makes no sense, seems they are always harrassing both groups for something. The ticket nazis really take a lot away from the whole match experience and it's sad. Not to mention, it seems that people in neighboring sections, many who are just going to their first game are ending up with tickets and getting annoyed with noise, standing (blocked views), and other things that are associated with sitting next to one of the supporter clubs. I think the ticket sales people could do a much better job of at least warning people of what they are getting themselves into before they seat them in a section next to either of the clubs.

I have intentionally sat further back hoping that when i cheer other peole will join in, which has happened. I have posted my ideas on getting more noise several times, but to no avail. I brought in a bunch of kazoos hoping that that would create some noise, but when you pay 2 bucks for a pack of 20 you get a crappy product. (Although i did see one person blowing on it like a whislte from both ends. You gotta hum!)

The thing i loved the most about the DC game was how the crowd got into it. I still wish that they had reserved the number 12 for the fans.

we were noisier than i expected us to be at the game. Just before the teams ran onto the pitch we had about loyalists and no drums.

The north end seem to be getting into it more ... more of them clap now than they used to however they only want to clap for 2-3 mins then they get bored.

I perceived that section 32 was going to be designated as an open standing section where anyone willing to stand (and hopefully chant) the entire match could enter. Seats would not be reserved, but our policy has generally been that is someone who wants to be in their exact seat printed on their ticket, that we move aside to accomodate them. (Rare that this is necessary and usually if someone unfamilar with section 32 has a seat down low, the drums and having the stand drive them away to a slightly quieter area anyway).

Wonder is this is something we should bring up with the FO. And if it's a matter of not wanting people with cheaper north end seats sitting in the corner sections, maybe we should consider moving to the end zone at some point.

You mean the only supporters group in the entire league too lazy to actually stand for an entire 90 minute soccer game? That Class VI? Yeah, we could only be so lucky. 🙄

From the beginning, the FO was willing to let E32 be general admission--IF YOU HAVE A TICKET IN E32. Any ticket in E32 is as good as any other ticket in E32. They have never really given us a solid green light for saying E32 can be a congregating point for any ticket for anywhere in the stadium. I think there were a couple wink-wink-nod-nod-say-no-mores near the beginning, but to put it bluntly, policy has changed.

But honestly, I don't think the ticket price/ticket nazis is causing numbers to be down. There are other issues, foremost among them the people who have tried to get things going (kazoos, coordinated poster boards, "anthems", walkie-talkie coordination, drum beats over the loud speakers, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.) who have been shot down or ignored. That is what kills people's enthusiasm.

Not just that, but any time that someone does end up with one of those tickets and gets ticked off because of the noise and obstructed view, think what kind of customer service experience that is. Most of those people who end up in one of those seats seem to be first timers who have not even been told what they are going to be sitting next to. As for corner vs north end, I understand to a point, but still, there should be some sort of at least warning before those tickets are sold. How hard would it be to tell someone, "That section is where one of our supporter groups are and they tend to be loud and stand the whole , are you ok with that?" If not, sit them on the west side, how hard would that be? Sometimes I wonder about the business sense of some of the people in the FO...

As for migration, after kickoff, if seats are open, who cares if someone moves into them? Honestly, if the seats are empty, why not let someone sit in them? Again, comes back to customer service. Give someone a good experience and they will keep coming back. Give someone a bad experience and not only will they never come back, they will also tell all their friends.

Let's be fair about this...
The numbers are down because of two things...

1) the team was not producing wins... and we all know that Utah fans only support winning teams. (Jazz, Utes, BYU etc... etc... when they are winning you can't get a ticket for love nor money, and when they are losing you can't give your tickets away)

2) the constant negativity being spewed by fans on and off the forums and in and out of the stadium... That has an effect on people... it takes time to recover... Potential fans will take time to come back to the game. And according to point #1 they will come as long as RSL keeps winning...

Alot of people have had great ideas and some bad ideas... but if the product on the field and the enthusiasm is not there then you certainly cannot expect the casual fan to spontaniously muster unbridled enthusiam and support.
Not all fans are die hards like the supporters...

Just like the team needed time to create wins... so do the fans need time to re-group and start coming out in numbers again...

Rome was not built in a day!

Actually, last weekend, the numbers were down because school is starting in most distrcits across the state this week, so a lot of people were getting in that last vacation of the summer. Overall attendance this year has been pretty similar to last as far as I've noticed.
