One other thing: isn't this kind of like kicking somebody when they're down? There have times in my life when I've really screwed up and people criticized me. That did not inspire me to greater heights of genius. It depressed me and made me worse. There have been times when I've really screwed up and people just said, "Hey honey, everyone makes mistakes. Don't worry about it." And then I've been able to move on and improve myself.

My prediction: if it comes to it and people do this, the team will fall apart for the rest of the game, just like they have in the past after the other team scores.

You can feel disappointed in your team. You can dislike the way they play. You can criticize them and point out their problems. But when game time comes, it's time to shut up and SUPPORT because you're a supporter's section. That's my opinion and I won't force anybody to agree with me, but I wanted to get my two cents in because I think it's already a humiliation that the newspaper even mentioned it's being considered. It'll be an even bigger humiliation if it happens.
I will admit it would have been much better as a surprise. I'm a little dissapointed that got published, but not that much.

I know it may look/sound that way to someone who is unacquainted with soccer culture and supporters club culture, but it is pratically expected that the supporters club will do something in this situation. To not to so would be a huge insult and make the only RSL supporters club look, well, soft, complacent, and ignorant.

Think of it this way: throwing streamers (black) if "the mark" is reached could be taken as an acknowledgement of difficulties and a show of solidarity from the fans to the team. Personally I think the team is getting off a little easy from the supporters club if this happens, but it sends the required message in a way that keeps the people who are worried about negativity happy.

I agree with everyone... which is an unusual occassion indeed!
I am torn... I actually won't be participating because I will be on the field.

Jules brings up a good point tho that makes one wonder... Do we have a choice now since the paper has said that it will happen?

Before everyone chimes in with a resounding 'YES WE HAVE A CHOICE' ask yourselves if we can now back away and still be taken seriously.

Just a few thoughts... anyway... I will be a Loyalist no matter what happens.
I only suggested the 1 minute sit down protest because I didn't like the bags over the head idea... people were demanding that something should happen so I suggested it and ppl seemed to like it!

I do think that whatever happens... it should be done as a group...

No disrespect here. I've said nothing that should offend or disrespect anyone. Just stating how I feel - just as the rest of you have. I just believe that if the team is going to slap a label on me that says "SUPPORTER OF THE MOST FUTILE TEAM IN MLS HISTORY", I should be able to do something about it by outwardly showing some sort of additional support. All year long when the team has scored goals I've thrown the streamers and I think it's very clever and fitting that when they if they break the futility mark I throw black streamers. I'm of the oppinion that this is in no way humiliating as some have labeled it. It's just a way of making light of a potenially very sad part of our short history.

What would be the point of that? We sit down at half time anyway.
