I really hate it when we look like an expansion team.

Well . . . .
either Chivas USA is a world class squad or Real Salt Lake is a steaming pile.
I'm pretty sure we know which is closer to the truth.
That was awful.

Yes, it is wrong...but I don't think there is one RSL supporter that doesn't have that thought sitting in the back of his mind right now.

We'll figure it out, stay positive. Oh, and by the way, we ordered the chicken, I'm not superstitious, we lost because we had no defense tonight.

Good night.

Good point! If our defence had been there, that one goal might have been the victory.

And I'm not superstitious either. Our miserable results have to do with the TEAM, not what you ordered at Iggy's. And not the shorts they are wearing either (sorry, Rover).

I really don't understand why they can't get more attacks going. With the caliber of players they have up front...well, they shouldn't be struggling as they are.

I'd have to agree with you 100% here. There is no depth in the defense. I felt really bad fro Kammy out there tonight. Where I'm from they'd call this game a good a$$whipping. It couldn't get much worse, could it? Here's hoping things turn around for RSL. If this wasn't an eye opener for them as a team and "men", then I'm afraid the season is lost===<:O(

Okay, so it's another cheesy idea that people will read and disregard, but I have to throw it out there. I wish we could all go up to the airport when the team flies back in (unless they already have) and just burst into huge cheers when we see them. I am all about telling the team we support them 100% no matter what. I think that our unending support is one of their potentially best motivators.

Goooo RSL!

Not a cheesy idea at all. Too bad I don't live close (or even in the area). I'd be up for this idea. Hopefully "we" all as fans stay true in our support of them, win, lose or draw. It's gotta be tough on them.

I'm not sure it's a depth issue. We just happened to have lost both of our leaders back there, and no one else stepped up last night. I don't think Chivas would have scored nearly as many goals if Dunseth OR Pope were there.

I think you're quite right about the leadership issue, but I also think we have a serious problem with depth if no one can step in and play that role. It's a lot to ask of the rookies, but they're not all rookies.

It's always complicated with teams, of course, but what we lack most of all is chemistry and discipline (fundamentals) in the back. How many times this season have we seen a player get in trouble and yet have no backup? And surely we've used up our quota of missed clearances. We still give attackers too much room on the dribble, and do not aggressively double team when we can shut an attacker down.

Too often players look lost and markless, and no one outside of the Big Three (Pope/Dunseth/Pierce) can consistently shut down attacks before they get to the 18, win air battles, and not only clear but send those clearances to the good guys in the midfield and launch attacks on the other guys' goal.

In the end, defenses have to be well constructed (system) and directed (leadership) because they are by definition reactive. You're tying to shut someone else down. We need more of both from our players.

IMO I don’t think it’s a good idea. The team is going to be down and I don’t think this is what they need now. Support is good, but for some reason this just doesn’t seem like a good idea. I know it’s not, but it almost seems mocking.
