I think we should start small. Let's try to get the crowd on their feet, and making noise for corner kicks and other set pieces.

I noticed that most everyone knows what is going on. When there was a good play, almost the entire crowd gave a "golf clap" to the player involved. Also when there was a bad call, the entire crowd "booed." I think that is what people like Chris Klein, and Landon Donovan are talking about when they call us a "knowledgeable" crowd. 👏

Now I know some of us here aren't too hip to the idea of our mascot, but maybe Leonardo could help us get the stadium standing and cheering. I know the kids would follow him. I would, too, if it meant getting more people involved in ACTIVELY supporting our team.

One thing I noticed in Denver... the kids and other "fans" only made noise when the tidy-bowl man was at the front of the section so I am not too sure we want to set the precedent of relying on the mascot to lead cheers.

It may backfire on us.

I am sure there is a way we can do this without turning it into an NBA game.

Merrill sounds like he has a bunch of ideas and I for one am looking forward to seeing what he has in mind.

Okay, so after all this talk, what are the next steps?

In my opinion, we need to decide on a set peice of chants (let them evolve how they may), but starting with a handlful of chants and obvious chanting times (corner kicks, kick off, free kicks etc) would probably make it easier for folks to grasp on to.

So step 1: Get Chants and "times" of chants?
Step 2: Get verbaige and chant tunes over to FO (for jumbotron)?
Step 3: Spread the word?
Step 4: work on it from game to game?

Thoughts....

OK, I don't have time to read through every suggestion, so this probably has been suggested before. If so, I'm sorry.

We should encourage RSL to recognize a fan of the match, thus encouraging more cheering throughout the stadium. It has been stated that a lot of people only cheer if they think they'll win something. If RSL were to watch the stands for someone who cheers and chants throughout the match (preferably not in the supporters sections, as they will always cheer and don't need additional encouragement), or if someone from the Loyalists/RCB were to watch the sections adjacent to them to identify someone who has been extra supportive of the team throughout the match, RSL could identify that person at the end of the match/show them on the jumbotron (maybe get their name a few minutes before the end of the match), and reward them with tickets to a future match (in premium seats where they will be recognized again at that match?) as well as a T-shirt from the supporter club of their choice. I know, its sad that we have to reward some people to get them to participate, but if they were to announce before the match and at halftime that they are looking for the "Fan of the Match", we could get a lot more enthusiasm in the stadium.

Maybe we could bring in RSL players into this.

Maybe RSL players could try something unprecedented.

Something never before tried. (Pretty much)

Something audacious & daring!

Maybe they could try being ahead in the second half.

Then we could break out "Start the bus", "You only sing when you're winning" and the ever-popular "We're crap but we're ahead of you."

How about, now this is considering we ever get the lead, we sing the the score in the tune of Amazing Grace?

3 nil, 3 nil, 3 nil, 3 nil, 3 nil.....
Anyway, you'll have to sing it to appreciate it. I think I heard this on one of the FIFA games for the xbox.

Sounds pretty cool when everyone sings in unison.

We've done that one before. It's been a long time though. We haven't really had the lead in a long time.
